I have used a Braun with cleaning for 10 Years and it never seemed to cut close enough for me. It wore out and i ordered the Norelco to replace it. My shaves are much closer with it.
So far so good! Great quality in an affordable electric razor. Love the wet / dry feature and the battery indicator. Nice sharp blades and no pulling or burns out of the box. Philips Norelco always make excellent products. Would definitely buy again and will last for years to come.
Relatively quiet, does a nice job. Gives close shave. It is a bit longer than my previous model - no need for it to be as the internals are likely the same, just a design difference.
Love the shave this give. Better than my last 2 Norelco shavers. Nice two pass shave for the most part. This cost me less than trying to replace the blades. Norelco needs to lower the cost of replacement blades and the blades need to be the same quality as the OEM.
This is my 3rd shaver in 15 years. The original still work and I use it camping. The last one developed a bad switch and I could not get it to run but it still shaved fine when it would run. The new one looks as though it has a better switch and it does work well.
My husband is very satisfied with this razor, after his other quit working he tried several others but returned them, he says this gives a good shave.
I took the razor to my husband who is in rehab from being in the hospital with many organ failures for a month. He tried it and loves it. He got rid of several weeks of growth and it worked fine!
I swear by this series and this brand. The flip top is indispensable. It allows you to keep the interior and the blades clear of debris and just leave it out to dry. I like the 5D. Had the 2000 for years. It never failed a single time. I finally stepped on the clip that holds the top on. These things are robust. They don't break without serious help. Even the top pops back on when you drop it. I dropped the last one more times than I can remember. The top comes off completely by design. That means the parts don't break. They just come apart. It is an excellent design. I haven't dropped this one yet but the parts are identical. Great product.
Might not be as close of a shave as my last one, that is a major issue. But the quality of the good is amazing.
Not impressed. It does not provide a clean shave like my previous philips norelco 3000 series. I'll continue to use, since cannot return, but dissapointed. Good point - it does not irritate the skin.
