I have used this particular brand because it holds up for many many years. It is expensive but my life is worth it. YES I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN
Quick and easy installation. Great for covering old hardwired holes since the screws are usually still there. Battery included.
It is easy to mount, a well known name and priced right. It takes a little finesse to get the battery in but you must have the positive and negative turned right. Just take your time, this doesn't take a PHD to do.
This smoke alarm fit on the ceiling outside my bedroom, in the hall way just perfect. I had been with Life Alert and they provided a smoke alarm but I sent it back with their other equipment. I needed a new smoke alarm and this First Alert had all the features I wanted plus a silencer. It is a compact alarm and uses a 9 volt battery which are available every where, this one came included in the package!
These smoke alarms are perfect. I had alarms without the battery and they were a pain because If you are working on the house and create any dust, they would go off. And I need to repair a wall in the kitchen, so I will only need to remove the battery during construction.
Does the job it suppose to do
I seen many complaints about the battery door, I guess it takes at least a middle school education to realize you have to take out the battery that is facing upwards for display and put it back in upside down and shut the door. Fully functionally basic model easy to use.
I was told by a fire department that the least expensive detectors are as good as the more expensive except that more features are added as the price goes up. These are perfect; and at under $8, it's the qua;ity & price I've come to expect from Walmart!!
I ordered 4 of these for a rental house. One of the reasons I chose this product was that the battery came with it, which meant I would not have to buy a pack of batteries separately. The handyman easily installed them but before the say was over one smoke alarm was chirping, indicating the battery needed to be changed. So I had to take it down and go purchase another battery. Disappointed!!!
It worked great for a month, no problems noted. Then it just started to alarm for no reason, had to put a fan under it to stop the alarm, also it alarmed after l took a shower. Never had a smoke detector alarm from a shower before.
