I like most of the Elf Makeup Brushes. The are pretry sturdy and do what they are designed to do. I wash them maybe once ever couple weeks and when they aren't performing as I like, the prices are so good, I just replace them with new ones.
this brush isnt your typical blending brush because its a little more flat than round. however it still picks up a lot of product and is great for darkening up your crease if youre trying to get a little more eyeshadow on your eyelid without fully packing it on
This blending brush has many uses. I use it to apply eye shadow. The bristles are close together, but are still soft. I can blend my eyes shadow well and it makes my makeup look great.
I have small hooded eyes. This brush is perfect for putting the transition color in the crease and blending up. I also use it in my outer corner of my lid. I have more expensive sigma brushes (E40 & E35) I bought for this purpose, but I find myself always reaching for the ELF blending brush. It is much easier to use AND I only use this one ELF blending brush (instead of 2 sigma brushes) and so it saves me time too.
I didn't expect this brush to last well as it has, it hasn't shed any hairs in the year I've owned it. But this brush is more flat than round, like a very fluffy shader brush, which makes it work very well in the crease. Turning it sideways so that the tapered sides are vertical rather than horizontal gives you the blend that you might have been expecting based on the picture.
I have finally found a blending brush that actually blends my eyeshadow! I find that other brushes marketed as blending brushes are much too round and fluffy for blending (especially because I have smaller eyes). This brush gives me much more control and I believe that is in part due to the fact that it is not completely round. When you turn the brush on its side you'll see that the barrel is slightly crimped. Am ordering another one right now!
Honestly, I got this brush because whenever I see a new item from "e.l.f." - I buy it, even if I don't necessarily need it. :) I have tons of brushes (low and high end), but I do have my all-time favorites from “e.l.f.” that I always seem to go back to. So I figured, why not? You absolutely need this brush if you do any kind of crease work and especially if you are a fan of smoky eyes or gradient eyeshadows! This brush is very unique because not only is it tapered, but it is also pinched on the sides. I included some pictures with this review, so you could (hopefully) get a better idea of its shape. Please excuse the dirty bristles; I literally use it every single day. I personally always deepen up my crease just a bit. In my opinion, it gives a bit more dimension to the eye, even if you are wearing almost no makeup at all. On those days, I just use a color about a shade darker than my skin tone. So I used to always use the MAC 239 for that purpose. When I discovered this particular blending brush from “e.l.f.”, there was no going back to the 239. Not even once! The bristles on this brush are very soft and extremely well tapered from all sides. It's a bit thinner and less squared off than the MAC 239. Because it's thinner, more tapered and softer (in my opinion), it fits much better in the crease and feels unbelievably gentle on your skin. I find that its shape is perfect for deepening up your crease because you can manage not to blend out the color too far out (since the brush is thin), but yet you do incorporate that little bit of depth in your crease and it blends in so effortlessly. Although you definitely can bring the color out as far as you need to; I just personally prefer to use this brush specifically for the crease line. And I love that it's thin but the “fluffy” kind of thin if that makes sense. It's just a very elegant, unique brush and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
This is a dupe for a mac brush, I love it! blends really easy and gives a good look. Been looking for a brush from the Studio line like this for a long time and so happy with the results helps to get in small places. the only reason I took off a star is because it could be a little more fluffy but nonetheless its great!
I bought this a little while ago and it works pretty well. It's a super fluffy brush and not all that dense. I don't mind working a little for the perfect blended smokey eye but some mornings I just don't have the time or energy. It works the best when it has the color you are trying to blend on the blending brush itself. It's not the best but It still work pretty dang well for the price.
I expected something more tapered like the Real Techniques base shadow brush, but this one is really round and big. It works, but its not what I wanted. The fact that it's so big makes it hard to control the blending.
