Without mentioning any names, my dermatologist recommended a brand name moisturizer for terrible itchiness of my legs and other areas due to dry skin conditions during the winter months when the dry heat is on. It came in a bottle with a push pump dispenser which I find very inconvenient. So for one thing, I like the fact that my 8 ounces of Aveeno Skin Relief 24 Hour Moisturizing Lotion comes in a handy squeeze tube. I also like the fact that much less need be applied and that it goes on fast and smooth but without a greasy after feel. I wasn't sure about the shea butter so I looked it up: “the white butter-like fat obtained from the seeds of the tropical African sapotaceous tree, Butyrospermum parkii, and used as food, to make soaps, etc”. It doesn't get much more “all natural” than that. I tried the Aveeno Lotion and found that it did indeed immediately moisturize my skin, has no odor and lasts the full 24 hours. No second application was needed. All in all I'd say it's as good as or better than anything else I've tried on the market. Basically, if you're seeking relief from an annoying, sleep-depriving itch caused by a dry skin condition, you won't go wrong with Aveeno Skin Relief 24 Hour Moisturizing Lotion.
I HAVE BEEN USING AVEENO SKIN RELIEF 24 HOUR MOISTURIZING LOTION FOR A FEW DAYS AND CAN ALREADY TELL A DIFFERENCE IN MY DRY SKIN. IT CONTAINS SHEA BUTTER AND NOURISHING OAT OIL. THIS IS GENTLE ENOUGH FOR SENSITIVE SKIN AND IS FRAGRANCE FREE AND NO STEROIDS. IT FELT A LITTLE HEAVY WHEN I FIRST APPLIED IT BUT THEN IT ABSORBED IN. I COULD TELL A DIFFERENCE IN MY DRY SKIN BUMPS WERE EASING UP AND THE ITCHINESS WAS A LOT LESS NOTICEABLE. IT IS DERMATOLOGIST RECOMMENDED AND IS VERY THERAPEUTIC. I HAVE FIBROMYALGIA AND IT SEEMS LIKE NOTHING HELPS THE DRYNESS UNTIL I FOUND AVEENO.
This lotion is great. First because it's fragrance free. I have a problem with the fragrance in almost everything so finding anything that is actually fragrance free is great. Even lotion with a slight fragrance can send me into unending sneezing fits. It doesn't make me sneeze in the slightest. Second, I have dry skin even on the best day and in the cold winters Ohio my skin dries out super-fast no matter how much lotion I put on it, sometimes to the point of my hands cracking. Even using Curel and Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion would only last so long, usually about six hours. I used this and I seriously only used it once a day. I have never used lotion once a day on my skin because usually after a few hours my skin would get dry and itchy again. To be honest I didn't even need it the next day but I used it anyway. This is my new favorite lotion. It's even gentle enough to use on my three year old who unfortunately has the same moisture sucking skin that I have or as I lovingly call it crocodile skin. It is a perfect for my skin and my allergies. I would recommend to anyone.
I have been using Aveeno products for my son whom has eczema since he was a baby and I have not been disappointed. So when given the opportunity to rate and review Aveeno skin relief 24-hour lotion for my honest opinion I jumped at the opportunity. Aveevno active naturals 24hour moisturizing lotion is a mild fragrance and steroid free lotion and is dermatologist tested. The lotion is made with shea butter and oat oil. The bottle says it has been clinically proven to relieve dry itchy skin for 24 hours. My son gets dry cracked skin during the winter because he suffers with eczema and it gets worse this time of year. I applied the lotion to his skin from head to toe after his bath and the lotion went on smooth and not greasy. Normally after a bath he feels itchy but not using this lotion. He is happy and that makes me happy. Because this product gives my son some relief and comfort I rate it 5 out of 5 and do recommend this product to others.
I love Aveeno products and this one is no different. This is a good size squeeze bottle. That alone controls how much lotion you dispense at a time to offset waste. It is very thick and soaks into you skin nicely. I have dry itchy hands and I use this daily and it lasts most of the day and relieves the itchiness and the dryness. It is unscented but has a bit of a smell. I can't explain what it is. Maybe the oatmeal? It is subtle though and fades rather quickly. It definitely is a very good, high quality lotion.
Just another Aveeno item that knocks it out of the park. I've always been an Aveeno user. I've used it on myself as a child, on my child now, and it's always been a never fail product line. This lotion is no exception. It's very soft and buttery, keeps your skin feeling soft and supple. I love how smooth it is, lightweight and doesn't have that tacky or greasy feeling after applying. I can't stand when lotion makes your hands feel sticky forever, after applying. It is great for normal to dry skin types. it does have dimethicone in it, which if you're not familiar with, it's a skin protestant. dimethicone will give the lotion a little extra smoothness or "slip" but it does have an unpleasant smell. If you smell the lotion and it smells like "chemical" it's just the dimethicone and nothing to be concerned about. The smell will wear off, and your skin will be feeling and looking great. This particular lotion is a great daily moisturizer, or great to keep in your bag for on the go, especially in the winter when you're more prone to dry skin. As always, just another Aveeno product that knocks It out of the park. I would highly recommend this, and all of their baby line if you have a child with dry skin or eczema.
My family and I have use other Aveeno products over the years and we haven't been disappointed at all. So I was really looking forward to trying the Aveeno Skin Relief 24 Hour Moisturizing Lotion an it is awesome also. Everyone in my household has Eczema and sensitive skin an it's really hard for us to find lotion that moisturizes our skin without irritating our skin. Aveeno Skin Relief 24 hour moisturizing lotion softened my hands an didn't leave me itchy. I use it everyday now and carry it in my pocketbook in case I go out before I have time to apply it. Even after I wash my hands they still feel soft. I haven't had any irritation from this lotion at all. The ingredients include Active Naturals Triple Oat Complex and Natural Shea butter. It's fragrance free, steroid free an can be applied to sensitive,itchy or extra dry skin. My husband has started using it also an it has made a significant difference in the appearance and feel of his hands. The tube is 8 oz an I hope it last us a long time but when it does run out we will be buying more.
I received this Aveeno active natural lotion that is mainly for skin relief with shea butter and oatmeal. This lotion compares to a lot of the other nice Aveeno lotions in its quality and thickness. It is a nice thick texture and I applied at night and I could still feel the moisturizing the next morning! So I think the 24 hour moisturizing really does do the trick. Especially since it is winter and my skin is very dry. It says it is unscented however I think right out of the bottle it smells like almond, but it is a nice fragrance. After it is applied I did not notice any fragrance. I think this is a really nice consistency to this lotion and applies really nicely.
Works well in conjunction with Aveno Hydrocortisone cream. After using that, I use Aveeno Skin Relief 24 Hour Moisturizing Lotion, 8 oz to prevent dry skin. I also use it alone. It has a very healing and softening effect while being soothing, mild and not harsh. I highly recommend it if you have mild skin irritation or eczema.
I recently was given the chance to try out an Aveeno lotion. Aveeno Active Naturals Skin Relief 24-hour moisturizing lotion came in a convenient flip-top tube. This lotion has both shea butter and oat oils, making for a very creamy, rich feel. The lotion claims to help relieve dry, itchy skin or sensitive skin, and is also fragrance free. Of course, all lotions have some sort of smell to them. I am guessing they merely mean no perfumes or scents have been added. What makes this lotion slightly different is the extra function it offers. This has 1.2% dimethicone, a skin protectorant. While you can apply as often as needed, this lotion claims to help protect your skin for up to 24 hours. Right now, with so much of the country experiencing extremely cold temperatures, this Aveeno lotion could be some folks' best friend! I could see keeping this in your work desk, near your crafting area and on the nightstand. It felt great on the skin, was not irritating and did not cause any other problems.
