[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unboxing: This thing was was packed well, apart from it being triple boxed (thank you), each box was labeled and included instructions on what to remove first so the robot wasn't damaged. First impression: Wow, this thing is beautiful; very sleek, stylish and modern. Setup: Setup was very easy, pretty much just plug and play. The instructions are printed on high quality materials so you can easily store them away for later. They give you a QR code to scan, this is my second Roomba so I already had the app downloaded. Operation: it is quieter than my first Roomba and my Shark, except for the empty bin option, very noisy but what can you expect, you need it to have powerful suction in order to clean it out. Pros: - Visually appealing and modern. - It is able to detect cords and other obstacles in its path with the front facing camera. That means if you have animals and they have accidents, there will be no more spreading poo all over the house (luckily my dog hasn't done that). - Cleans in rows instead random so it is quicker and more efficient. - Dog resistant, if you dog attacks it and turn it off Al the time, you are in luck. This one is not as easy to stop as previous versions. (See mapping video). - Debree bags, the dirt goes into the debree bags instead of making the entire chamber filthy. Cons: - The empty bin function is VERY loud. My dog did not like it at all, neither did my husband. - You have to swap out the attachment for mopping. - You will have to buy additional debree bags Overall Review: I am pleased with the robot, although I wish I it could vacuum and mop without changing the the attachment. The empty bin functionality is loud and will take some getting used to so I suggest putting the home unit somewhere where the noise won't bother you. I work from home so I put it far away from my office. Monitor your animals for the first few times you operate it so they aren't afraid and reward them for leaving it alone. Overall B+

With two pets and two humans packed into a tiny bungalow, my house has a miraculous way of filling up with grime. Unfortunately, the robot vacuums of yore, with a voracious appetite for cords, pet toys, and cat vomit, left plenty to be desired. Enter the j5+ combo robot vacuum (which, full disclosure, I received gratis in exchange for an honest review). This, my friends, is the robot vacuum of the future. It creates a map of your house so you can tell it where to go (e.g., the kitchen) and where not to go (pet toy box, please!). It can somehow identify obstacles with its robo-eyes and decide what and what not to suck. Is it magic? I don't know, but it sure makes my life a heck of a lot easier. My partner decided a day after we received this that his mother was getting one of these for Christmas - and this is the first time in his life he has ever given her a Christmas present! I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

The first time I ran this Roomba it took a long time to complete its task. That showed me how much better it was at doing a thorough cleaning job than my ancient (8 years old) model. Subsequent run were much shorter.
It is so easy to use. We have carpet and hard wood floors and it does a great job transitioning from one to the other.
I love this vacuum/ mop combo. We have both hardwoods and carpets, and it transitions with no problem from one to the other. The app seriously makes the use of this so convenient, I can just click the button in the app while I am at work and it vacuums the entire house. I love the feature where I can mark areas in the app based on my house mapping to keep the Roomba from going into. It's been amazing not seeing dog hair all over my floors, and not too mention IT EMPTIES IT'S OWN TRASH BIN. How amazing is that!
I've had my iRobot, Roomba Combo, j5 for several weeks now and find it quite good. The app is fairly easy to use. The appliance is easy to use. It does a pretty good job as a vacuum but I wish I had gone for the lower priced version without the mop feature. It really doesn't do anything more than drag a damp cloth around the house. It doesn't even begin to clean even the smallest most simple "dirt". My house is generally pretty clean and tidy. I'm not asking it to clean up major messes, just a few small spots where snow melted then dried leaving a slight water puddle spot on smooth vinyl flooring. I had to go back and wipe it up with a rag. I know the iRobot Roomba Combo is not made for deep cleaning, that I'll still have to manually clean in corners and behind and under furniture and appliances but I really hoped it would do a better job of mopping. Overall I'm pleased with it but would not recommend the mop feature.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have loved testing this vacuum! I named mine Chariot and now I can ask Google to have Chariot vacuum and she does! The iRobot app also referred to my Roomba as Chariot all through the set up. Keep in mind when you first do a mapping run it won't be vacuuming! So I ended up having some hair floating around from my cats. I recommend if you want to do another mapping run after you're set up to have your Roomba vacuum first to avoid that. If I ask on the Google with a screen I can pause the cleaning, start it again and send her back to the docking station. I set up some programs and I can ask Google to run the programs as well. I haven't tried scheduling my cleanings yet, but it's been really great! I set the map so it knows where my rugs are and where I have the cat food so it doesn't tip the bowl over. The mopping function is great too! I'll be honest I've never mopped my place before and now the floors look so clean! The most difficult for me was finding a space to put the docking station. It needs to have 6ft in front of it, 6ft on the right and a foot and a half on the left, so it took me a moment to find a space where I could do that. Unfortunately it doesn't clean up the dirt right in front of the dock - easy to push it into the room for the vacuum to pick up. It also didn't get this small strip of dirt next to one of my taller rugs. I have a Dyson that I have to charge - so it's been amazing to have Chariot do the big sweep and then for the smaller spaces I can use the handheld. Overall it's been fabulous and I've been telling everyone about it!
The robot has not managed to complete our home as of yet. Granted we still have lots of obstacles out in the way. We are still moving furniture and other items. Our bag is full and it's nearly impossible to empty it. They should have a zipper to clean the bag with, as it is a 1" hole is a bad design.
