This was exactly what I needed when I was wiring my new air compressor. The three prong style plug is an obsolete so I was ecstatic to find this. I was able to wire everything up nice and tight for the air compressor and since the outlet was for an electric dryer the amperage was more than sufficient to be up to code for the usage. Now I do not endorse doing your own wiring unless you have a certified electrician to verify your work because the last thing you want is to burn down the house! Be smart! Be safe!
