My Son just loves it, a bit tricky to get used to as oppossed to a normal skateboard but well worth the money
My son specifically asked for a rip-stick(sp?) skateboard. He had no complaints and uses this almost everyday since he receiced it. We purchased this via online on black friday and were truly happy with the price and we compared it to many out there!
The wave is a easy way to travel or ride.It will be kinda tricky to get at first but after you get the hang of it it will be 2nd nature .. thing.. If your kids want a skateboard.. get the wave board.. a great price.. better than the ripstick . in performance and price .....safety is from 8 - 10 year old helmet knee pad and wrist pad .. 11-and up helmet .. other safety objects are your choice.. always wear a helmet... thanks
My 3 boys ages 8, 10, and 12, wanted these for Christmas after riding the neighbors RipStick. The Wave handles better...so my oldest says. There is not much difference between the two other than price. They all learned to ride in 1 afternoon! And this is their prize present next to the Wii...lol Now all the neighbors kids want one! You can't go wrong buying the Wave vs. the Ripstick.
I was thrilled to get the wave board for such a great sale price after Thanksgiving. Both my children are 8 and almost 8 and they love it. There was also a instructional DVD with th eproduct and that was very helpful. We are happy with it.
Purchased for my 13 year old son. He loves the wave board...did not want a ripstick. He is an excellent snowboarder, so he had no problem jumping on and taking off on the first try.
I bought for my grandson whom is 8 and he had quite a bit of difficultly figuring it out at first but after a couple days he does pretty well. But hands, knees and elbow pads are a must for younger folks.
I actually already have another board and had purchased this one for my wife so we can ride together around the neighborhood. It is easier to ride than the other boards out there because it is a little stiffer and feels easier to balance as well. It feels just like snowboarding. Great for kids and adults who haven't quite lost the ability to have fun. =)
My son wanted this for Christmas, with the after Thanksgiving sale price I finally bought it for him. He loves it. He has learned pretty quickly how to do it, but can't go very fast yet. He is very happy, so I am happy.
Bought the Wave for my teenage son. He loves it! It provides a different ride than a traditional skateboard and allows him to do tricks and turns. Because of its surf-like ride it does provide a whole body workout as balance and core stability are needed (particularly when riding up hill.) Ever the cautious mom, I do recommend supervision (especially for younger kids) and the usual protective gear (helmet, wrist guards, knee/elbow pads etc.) particularly when beginning.
