I bought this last summer to use more as a small bird bath or water source to hang off my deck. The chain is very lightweight and has broken but I repaired that. The cedar has not worn well. The interior "bowl" often doesn't sit level. Other than that, it's fine - the birds seem to enjoy it and that was my reason for purchasing it.
I bought this feeder awhile back because it was affordable and easy to deal with. Birds seemed to be happy enough with it. One morning I went out to fill it and found the chains completely broken apart. I'm guessing a raccoon found a way to get into it but not certain. I bought another one only to have the same thing happen this morning. Time to find a new kind of feeder. While this feeder is affordable and easy to use, don't waste your money if you have any larger critters that might find their way to it.
