I bought this bag for my mom so she could easily visit me in Chicago. She drives from Ohio to Indiana to catch a train into Chicago, then she takes the L to visit me at work. This bag has made it to she can pack all of the things she likes to pack and carry it easily and hands-free.
The Lighten Up Journey Backpack seems to be well made like most things I have gotten from VB. It doesn't have much physical structure to it so it can hold a lot, but it won't stand up on its own if it's empty (a slight issue for how I had planned to store it but totally manageable). It is easy to maneuver around as a duffle and comfortable to wear as a backpack. It easily holds about two days worth of clothes plus laptop, cellphone, chargers, light jacket, pajamas and an extra pair of shoes. I think it will do very well as a personal item for flights since it's able to be squished a little to fit in smaller places. It is longer than I thought it would be, taking up my whole back from shoulder blades to waist. It also sticks out a little more than I expected, but that's simply how it can hold so much. All in all, this is a great backpack. I wish I had bought it sooner.
I bought this backpack ahead of a family trip to NYC. It's the best backpack I have ever owned. It makes heavy loads seem light. It has pockets galore - great for a mom on the go! Since my kids are out of diapers, I don't have a diaper bag anymore, but this is great to add everything your kids need when you're on the go! The pattern is pretty, the material is durable, and I got many compliments on my trip!!
Great for travel. Fits on my luggage handles. Love all the pockets and features including the compartment at the bottom for shoes. Includes a sunglasses holder that's easy to access and a padded laptop section.
With the spacious interior and loads of handy compartments, this makes the perfect work bag for me. My job requires that I frequently travel within a 500 mile radius and carry certain equipment. This bag fits all of my business and personal items in addition to looking great.
I love this back pack! I use it to bring my gym stuff along to work, and there's plenty of room and pockets left for my work things, a book, and my lunch (I can get my sneakers in the shoe compartment although it's a pretty tight fit, I have big feet though.) The water-resistant fabric is a big plus because it's been rather rainy here lately. It's nice not to have to worry about my bag soaking through.
I'm a mom of two and I've been looking for some backpacks that are versatile. Time to trade in my old diaper bag backpack Haha first of all the Dream Diamonds is fabulous! Even better in person. Can't go wrong with Cut Vines either. I got that one in the frame backpack lol I've been messing around with this bag since I got it. It expands so much, fits so much, has so many pockets and different areas, etc. I could go on and on! It's great when you have two toddlers and still need space for diapers. I can easily fit 3 pairs of my daughters sunglasses in the top compartment without taking the thing out. I wear a 7 shoe. I can fit a pair of tennis shoes and flip flops in the shoe area. I love the material and all the handles. Can't wait to use it! It'll be a great carry on! Plan to use it at Disney for all of our belongings we need each day for a family of 4! I also like the chest clip because you could easily stuff this bag and load it down! Makes for extra support Haha I was nervous to buy this because of price, our store isn't too close, and not many reviews/photos. Hopefully my review and photos help you decide to get it! :)
I bought this backpack after watching the YouTube video when Adele talked about her 7 day trip using one backpack. I have already gone on a one week mini vacation to Virginia Beach and loved it! I really enjoy hear testing and this pack did not disappoint. The top hard pack glasses case is removable but I used it for glasses and cord storage, it even fit my ear buds. The main compartment is roomy enough for 7 days of clothes plus the mesh pockets for underwear and socks kept everything tidy as a Marie Konde drawer! She be so proud! And the drop down front pouch kept pen notebook, phone and mini makeup organizer where I could easily get to it when I'm ready to refresh. The bottom compartment I used for my dity back with sandals and swimsuit. And an extra pair of shoes and dirty laundry bag. The front zip compartment held a folded tote for souvenirs and snacks for on the road. I used the stash compartment for my wallet and the laptop sleeve for my scripts and sides for class. If there is anything I've ever learned about travel is that you need to be organized and know where things are. That way when you are really tired from a day of fun in the sun you can to you everything you need and no stress. I would recommend this pack which is larger than average but you don't feel that whole wearing it and it's super easy to take anywhere, wether flying or driving. Keep it simple and stress free.
I was really looking forward to using the backpack. The shape is really odd when you use the shoe compartment for shoes. Even when you don't, the bag is mis-shapen, it doesn't look like the pictures. When you pack sneakers in the shoe compartment, they take up all of the space in the main compartment. So, you really can't get as much as you would like into the bag. Maybe if you pack flip flops or flats you can have enough space in the main compartment.
I bought it as a carry-on backpack to use instead of one of my other Vera backpacks... but it is no bigger. It has a lot of good ideas (compartments) incorporated but for the cost I ended up returning and will use my other lighten up backpack that is basically the same size. Waiting to see if one comes out that is larger( but not deeper) and opens like a suitcase. The new convertible one is too deep to for in some smaller overheads.
