While my younger two girls, going into 7 & 8th grades, have worn George brand uniforms in the past, this year's shopping got more complicated since the older one has gotten curvy. She is still a 16 in girls' sizing so I ordered the skinny fit girls' pants and these in a size 7. The girls' would have worked if needed since it has the adjustable waist and stretchy fabric (the girls' "skinny" really isn't, I would call it tapered), but she liked these better. These are called "straight", but they do widen about 1" toward the bottom like a boot cut. The size 7 juniors' had a bit more room than the girls' 16, allowing for a fuller seat. The two big selling points were the slide closure at the waist (the girls' pants has a button this year), and deeper pockets. My girls get so annoyed with girls' pants having shallow or pretend pockets! They like to stick things in their pockets too! So thank you for giving her usable pockets! (A phone would fit in the front pockets, but the back is only 4.25" deep.) In the picture, she has about 3" folded under at the hem. Actual measurements before washing: 31.5" inseam, 31" waist, & 38" hip measured just below the zipper.
They run a little small. My daughter wears a 3. We had to return them and get a 5, and they are still a little tight in the rear.
Great pants for my job, and they have the adjustable waist band. Love, love, love!
