We recently purchased these for our security team. Everybody was full of compliment, from comfort to sizing. They are very happy.

I bought a pair of these a few weeks ago and the boots were comfortable right out of the box. I am a fan of the rugged tread and the speed lace system as well as being able to polish the boot. The zipper on the side of the boot is very durable so I don't think I will have to worry about it breaking and it makes them easy to get on and off.
For starters, I have planters fasciitis in both feet so bad it is hard to make it through a shift. I change boots several times a shift so my foot will have something different and not tire so quick. The other pair of boots I have are lighter weight and wear more like a sneaker. These Propper's are heavier and the difference I was looking for. They are comfortable and I have had to wear them the whole shift and my feet did better that I expected. The Propper's are sturdier and durable. The other pair I wear I bought about the same time and I can feel the arch support already starting to break down.
Very professional looking boots. This is my first pair of side zipper boots. The side with the zipper has this tri-fold that I had to cut out because it was digging into my ankle and made walking very uncomfortable. After cutting out this small section of fabric out they feel just fine. Cutting the fabric out hasn't affected the integrity of the boots.
Other than a break in time these boots are great. They are comfortable, not narrow as has been previously stated, and well made. I like the additional insole which I did add for a more glove like fit. All in all, they have been working great for me. I do a fair amount of walking and standing throughout the day in these, and I dont think much about them when in use, which I take as a good sign. Also, the insoles do seem to conform after a few minutes of use so they do feel a little snug at first. I am happy with the purchase, especially at the sale price.
I had a bad experience with Magnum boots so I decided to go with Propper this time. First pair I got was a "lemon". 2nd pair I received from Propper customer service was good. The 2nd pair took me a minimum of 2 weeks (due to the side zipper) to break in, despite the fast lace system in place. With Kiwi brand boot polish, I was able to do a decent shine on the toe within 30 min - 1 hr. True to sizing, I ordered my usual 8.5M. The 2nd pair lasted me on duty at least a year, retiring out-of-service around 1.5 years (8-12 hrs in use a weekday, 40-60 hrs a week) . For those who like their boots tied tight like mine, I would recommend finding another boot that is full lace up as the side zipper will press uncomfortably against the side of the ankle. The velcro strap that covered the side zipper was annoying throughout my shifts: Velcro either kept "popping out" or wouldn't hold at all. Hopefully Propper will eventually release an all leather 8" or 6" duty boot that is full lace up without the hassle of a YKK side zipper or the flimsy Velcro around the calf of the boot.
These boots started out great and I was happy with my purchase. They lasted about 4 months before the velcro on the zipper ripped off on both boots, the sole started to peel, and the shank bent inside the boot and continuously jabbed the back of my foot. Absolutely atrocious durability in a product marketed for professionals who need it the most.
