Honestly it's so nice. The stainless steel finish is wonderful and easy to clean. Worth the $50 upgrade from plastic since you're already splurging on a blender anyways. I would say though that I only use the self cleaning button on the pre-programmed buttons on the unit so I think I would have been fine with the model without buttons. Everything else about the blender is wonderful; the side on/off switch, the ergonomics of the speed wheel with the soft click feel as you turn it. It's definitely a blender I am bragging about.
This is my 3rd Vitamix. My first one was the Commercial Vita-Mixer 4000, from 1993, which I still have! The other 2 are the A3500. I liked the first one so much I got another one for our NC home. I like the programs and the fact I can use attachments. Now, I don't have to buy a separate food processor for our summer home. They work great and I have been enjoying making, smoothies, basil pesto, nut butters, etc. I highly recommend it!
I have wanted a Vitamix for over 10 years. I had been using a small, single serve blender for a long time. It was time to upgrade so decided to "go big or go home". No regrets....it is the best investment. Well worth the price. It does get a bit noisy depending on what setting you are using. If you are on the fence, take the plunge and invest in a Vitamix. You won't regret it
I'm loving the A3500, I have MILKED it hard making FRESH coconut milk, cashew milk, and almond milks. I love the silky smoothies and soups, to the chunky salsa and salad dressing and my favorite Frothy Coconut, Peach Mango Cream dessert. Oh yeah, the Coconut Ice Cream is FANTASTIC. I make breakfast with the A3500 and paired with the Scale and Aerator jar it's JUST PLAIN FUN
I bought my Vitamix last month after I purchased one to give as a wedding present; from the couple's registry. The recipients were over the moon when they opened their gift! They couldn't stop raving, so I read more about this blender and I thought this would be great for me too! After a month of usage, I'm glad I upgraded to the Vitamix!
It's difficult to put into words how much I love this blender. I don't regret the money for a second and vitamin will definitely be a staple in my kitchen for the rest of my life. It makes eating healthier easy and fun. I love trying out new recipes and seeing what crazy ways I can hide veggies to get my boyfriend to eat, who is seriously a meat and potatoes guy. I have him eating broccoli soup and green juice. It also makes me more confident to try new baking recipes, like the flan I made for Easter family dinner. Made the texture so smoothe. I'm confident any issues that might come up will be addressed by vitamin customer service.
I bought my Vitamix about 6 weeks ago and have used it nearly everyday. I started making smoothies in my old blender but was having to chew them. My sister in law had gotten a different model and told me it made a big difference. So I got it. Well I LOVE it. I have a smoothie everyday. I eat more veggie and fruit, feel better, and it's easy. I just wish I had invested in one when I was making smoothies for sick family members.
I got the copper base and it's absolutely the most beautiful appliance I will probably ever own. Other than the aesthetics, this blender is seriously the best of the best. So easy to use with the smart touch screen and the preset options. I love using it so much that I try to use it every single day- I used to dread using the ninja I had- mostly because of the complex cleanup required. This beauty cleans herself! Plus, the exact same recipes I used with the old blender are SO MUCH BETTER in the Vitamix.
Let me start by saying that we love, love, love our Vitamix A3500. We love it so, that this is the second blender we own in a little over a decade. We use it several times a day for much of our cooking. We love the electronic panel and its performance is flawless. But, for the love of baba ganoush, couldn't you design a container that is easy to read? It is nearly impossible to read the measurements on the side of the container. We didn't have this problem with the previous Vitamix container (different model), so it is frustrating that this is so, considering that this is not an inexpensive gadget. That aside, we are thrilled with our purchase but may need to pull a sharpie to be able to mark the cups on the side of the container. I know, first world problems.
The unit itself seems great. I have a few issues with the container that comes with it. First, just an observation, not really a complaint, the 64 oz container is too big for personal sized smoothies. It needs to be fuller in order to mix well. Second, there is a black rubber washer that is part of the blade assembly. It somehow fell apart and chopped itself up into my smoothie. Vitamix sent me another container, free of charge - thank you, but at the same time they basically said they didn't believe me. They also say the container is dishwasher safe - it's not. After putting mine in the dishwasher, there was water permanently trapped underneath the blade assembly. Hard to explain, but easy to see. Since they replaced my container, I won't be putting the new one in the dishwasher.
