[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this breast milk collector from Medela! It works great, suctioning it on is easy, the silicone is soft and doesn't hurt. The stopper is convenient, as is the lid, and lanyard, but my favorite part is the suction base! I had a different collector that accidentally got knocked over and I was devastated. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This might be my new favorite breastfeeding accessory! Medela has solved all the issues I had with my last milk collector. Some mornings I wake up super engorged with milk, and when I try to feed my baby on one side the other side leaks like crazy. This milk collector suctions on and collects all that milk that would have otherwise been wasted into a nursing pad. As the collector fills it tends to lose suction and become susceptible to falling off (or being kicked off by my baby) so the lanyard keeps the collector from dropping on me/the couch and spilling! When I'm finished, I use the stopper and then the lid for when I store it in the fridge. I tested the lid and nothing spilled, but I wouldn't suggest traveling with it unless you used the stopper and lid together. It takes me one second to clean it with a bottle brush, unlike my hand pulp with all its parts. I'm so thankful that Stellar Product Testing Panel provided me with this breastfeeding accessory! Can't wait to gift these to friends!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel I was able to try out the Medela Silicone Breastmilk Collector in return for an honest review. I was so thrilled to give this one a try because I've tried 4 other brands of the silicone Breastmilk collectors and none of them have impressed me. Sure they've all “worked”, but not in a way that I'd hope for. To start - I love that this one has a suction cup bottom. Hands down my favorite feature if all time.it has another feature that I've never see in any other collector before and it's a lanyard type neck strap so when you're nursing on one side and collecting milk on the other and your baby kicks it off of you the milk doesn't go shooting all over the place. It just falls straight down and hangs without losing any of the precious liquid gold. The other accessories it comes with are the plug and cap. Both work well and I've also used them at the same time mainly to see if they fit together and they in fact do! So double milk protection. Love it! Some other things I love about the silicone collectors are that they're hands free. You just suction it on before a nursing session and at any point you can just pop it off and set it down. It's not like a pump with all of the wires and mess. Super simple, super easy to use, and you don't lose any precious milk. I fill this collector up every time I nurse. I suction it to the opposite side and with every letdown (when I would usually fill up multiple nursing pads and burp cloths with milk that streams out) it just goes straight into the collector and then I have a whole bottle to fill for my baby for the next feeding. Win/win!

It caught all the leakage from my letdown while my son was eating on the other side rather than my bra/shirt. The silicone is soft and extremely easy to use. It was simple to achieve and maintain a secure suction, and it did exactly what it was supposed to do - save otherwise wasted breast milk. Wonderful product! I am also really glad that I can clean this using the same microwave steam bags I use for my breast pump parts. This made cleaning a cinch! I'm not a big fan of things around my neck, so the lanyard really wasn't for me. I get it's purpose and think it is a good idea, but it just wasn't for me. So, with that being said, there are a couple things I would've really liked to change/add. First, I would like the ability to either hook it to my bra for added security, or for it to easily fit into my bra. Maybe the shape of the bottle would've fit better into a bra if it was like a flat flexible disc-like shape. The other thing, would be the ability to attach a bag to or in the bottle, like a liner, to make transferring the milk and cleaning even easier then it already is. Neither of these things take anything away from the product itself, it is more so a personal preference. This product does exactly what it was designed to do, so these should not be construed as a con. At the end of the day, this is an awesome product that was designed to practically and effectively save breast milk and it does just that! I really wish I would've had this for my first 6 babies.
Thanks to the Stellar Product Test Panel I was able to try out this Medela Silicone Breastmilk Collector. The milk collector is made of a heavy silicone and comes with a lid, a stopper, and a lanyard. I have been using similar products for years and what I love most about this milk collector is the suction cup base. I typically use my milk collectors for the very first feeding of the day so I usually keep it on my nightstand until I'm ready to use it. The problem is I don't have much room on my nightstand with everything that is on there so it's super easy for me to accidentally bump it and knock it over. But with the suction cup base I don't end up spilling it if I do accidentally bump it which is fantastic because no one wants to spill liquid gold. The stopper and lid are great for storage however I find myself just using the stopper most of the time because I transfer the milk into a storage bag. This milk collector is a great way to collect breast milk and build your freezer supply with out having to sit around for a hour and pump. I attached it to the opposite breast I'm feeding on and collect my letdown, typically getting 1-2oz when I use it. The silicone of the collector makes it very easy to clean so it's ready to go for the next session. The two things I didn't care for on this collector was the lanyard and the thickness of the silicone. The lanyard tended to get in the way when I was trying to apply the collector and the position of the loop to hook it on to made it so the rim of the collector doesn't stay back on its own which typically helps when applying it with one hand, which is usually how I'm using mine since I have a baby on the other side. The thickness of the silicone made the collector a little heavy and bulky and I think also added to the rim not staying back on its own while trying to apply one handed. Overall this Medela Silicone Breastmilk Collector works very well in helping me build my freezer milk supply and helps give me some added security knowing it securely suctioned to my nightstand and won't accidentally get knocked over.

This is a simple to use little milk collector, but the addition of the lanyard is a great idea. I've had collectors before and it's very frustrating when they pop off and go flying. The lanyard is the simple fix to this problem. It stays securely upright even if it gets kicked by a squirmy baby because its secured to your neck. I also like the little yellow stopper that comes with it. This is a much easier way to cover the milk than the large white cover. I had trouble keeping the white one on and quickly discarded that one for the yellow stopper. The suction cup bottom didn't really suction well to my wooden table, but it might be better with a different finished table. With the yellow stopper I felt confident it wouldn't spill even if it tipped over though. This is a nice item to have on hand by your nursing station to collect those precious drops of milk while you feed on the other side.

I own another version so I was very excited to have an extra one to use. The accessories that come with this breastmilk collector are fantastic. By utilizing the stopper, top, and suction bottom there is no way for this to be knocked over and milk to be spilled. I am also a huge fan of the size of this collector, it's small enough where it doesn't interfere with the baby nursing but large enough to hold a good amount of milk. The only accessory I couldn't figure out was the lanyard, it's not a device I would wear around my neck or really need that lanyard accessory for, I do use it to hold the silicone collector on my door though right next to my chair where I usually nurse at. My only issue and lack of one star as I had a very hard time getting it to suction properly to my breast. It would take three or four times and adjustments to get a good suction which is not something I want to be messing with when I'm nursing a baby on the other side. All and I was very happy with this collector as it did allow quite a few ounces of breastmilk to not go to waste, I just wish it were easier to get the initial suction.

I wish the suction was a little better but the lanyard helps if it does come off. It does work well when attached but if baby is super active it can be kicked off. This silicone milk collector is great for keeping my milk production a little more even and help give me some relief. It was made well with a spot to attach a lanyard to keep it from falling. It also contains a flat bottom to ensure it stays upright when I put it down. Through using this collector it helped me save 1-2 oz per feeding that could have otherwise been lost. This is huge in the breastfeeding game. My favorite feature probably has to be the neck strap because it helped keep it stable when my son likes to kick it. This item is an absolute must have for nursing moms! Say goodbye to your time consuming plug in electric pump and hello to this tiny little brilliant item. This breast milk collector is such a great idea and really does the job. I collected so much milk over just a few feedings. The silicone conforms to my breast and just a squeeze of suction and this catches all my let down and more! Perfect for breastfeeding moms who don't want to waste a drop of milk. Great additions are the milk stopper and the lid. The lanyard is convenient too but the milk stopper makes sure no spills will occur! The only negative thing I'll say is that Medela did take this product from a company called Haakaa I believe but I researched and found that Lansinoh makes this too so not sure who was the first company to come out with it. Overall, a great product. I'm very grateful to Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with then awesome breastfeeding accessory/must have. This is perfect for moms who are looking to save their milk since we all know our milk is liquid GOLD for our little worlds!
