I was due for an upgrade from my old computer. Spent a lot of time searching the web and reading reviews. I am an occasional gamer but enjoy making slide shows for my organization. This computer rocked it! Ran smooth and quickly and very quiet. Wife burned a CD and it did it in a 1/3 the time as my other PC. Have not had any problems with this computer what so ever. Windows 8 takes a little getting used to but if you just sit down and use it for awhile you'll begin to like it as much if not more. If your looking for great performance for the buck, this is the one for you.
This system is quite well priced. It's $300 cheaper through Walmart than straight from iBUYPOWER. It's more quiet than I expected, and still runs cool.
Fantastic deal for a great gaming computer. So far I have played Shogun 2 Total War, Napoleon Total War and Company of Heroes 2 with everything on ultra and everything is running super fast with no glitches or lag. It is handling everything on the highest video settings with no problems whatsoever and has amazing graphics. With the 3 speed cooling fans I can't even tell this computer has been running for days without being shutdown. It's not even warm. I highly recommend this product it is well worth the money and easy to use. Very pleased.
To be completely honest I was very hesitant on buy any computer on walmart.com. Nothing against Walmart, of course, but the selection in the past never really was the best. Then again, I was chosing $500 clearance AMD quadcore laptops and thinking that it would so be a great gaming (lol, "gaming." For the record, I mostly played Sims 2, Sims 3, and World of Warcraft on those machines.) Then I did my research. I've always been pretty tech savvy, but very very cheap. iBUYPOWER met me on the price and one upped me on the quality. Start up: Within seconds I\m booted up and ready to do whatever. I like that. A lot. Multitasking: Never been better! FPS: Depending on the game, I get AMAZING fps. I can play plenty of games on high or ultra with no lag at all. That is amazing to me. It's a new day in age. A girl can propose, right? Well, Mr. Computer. You're mine.
I got this computer just a few days ago. I got it because of the new Total War Rome 2 game coming out. Works great for Shogun 2 and Empire Total war. On Shogun 2 I was able to get around 27,000 units on screen before I started seeing some lag! But even with this amount of men on screen it wasn't really bad lag. They say Rome 2 won't be a lot more demanding then Shogun 2 so I'm sure ill come close to having that many men on screen in Rome 2 with out much lag. I was able to max everything in Empire and Shogun to the best they could go. The computer comes with DX 11 so it just made everything that much more beautiful. While I was playing testing this computer it never really got hot. I was pretty shocked at how many men I could get and the computer staying cool. I'm getting a new Power Supply Unit and upgrading the graphics card to make it that much more beastly! I've not tested any other games yet but I'm sure I could get high to ultra graphics on them as well. So all in all this was a good buy for the money!
I needed something to future proof as I hate buying new computers every two years. I got this big guy, bought some RAM to blow it up to 64GB, put a 10k rpm raptor drive and I've got a very solid rig for AutoCAD, circuit design and gaming. I'll probably upgrade the video card at some point but it's fine for right now. And it's quiet! I've not had a liquid cooled rig in a while and this thing makes barely a peep. Overall an excellent bargain.
Seems like every five years I have to upgrade just to continue playing my games without the slowdowns, choppiness, and crashing due to software changes, so I purchased this computer in hopes that it will last much longer. I did some comparisons online and at other stores that carry it (or something similar to it) and by far, this was the best value with the most hardware components for the price. So far I am pleased and looking forward to more than five years of fast gaming performance. Don't let me down iBUYPOWER! :-)
I did a lot of research with all the guts that go into a desktop. I love how Walmart has an area where you can build your own desktop. You can read about all the different things, motherboard, hard drives, memory, etc. That helped me a lot in what I was looking for. I then went to many other websites looking up all those goodies that go into the towers and reading the reviews. Once I decided what I wanted in my desktop tower I went on a web search looking for the best computer for the best price and this was my choice. I'm very happy with it. I was afraid of Windows 8. Lots of mixed reviews with Windows 8. Some hate it and some love it. I have had Windows XP for the last 10 years so that was all I have been used to. Then reading reviews of those who hated it kind of put the fear in me. I thought about it and remembered how I was afraid of XP when it first came out. Then decided to go for it and I am glad to tell you, it's not as bad as I feared it would be. It'll just take some time getting use to, and some extra reading on how it works. If I had to rate something negative about this computer, it would have to be the outside of the tower. It's just not my cup of tea. But hay, I look at it this way. I'm not looking at the outside of the tower. I'm looking at the performance of this machine and as my boys would say, It Rocks".
What a great computer for the money. I had to call tech support to have them assist me in setting on my monitor. They answered the phone in under 2 Mins and had my issued resolved in another 2 minutes. I had to connect my monitor via a DVI cable. Highly impressed! On a side note the tower is massive with room for expansion.
Opened box, set it up, keyboard is not working. Called the company the day I got the computer, they directed me to a website to fill out a form for a replacement part. Completed the form and have waited a month so far. Have tried contacting Ibuypower multiple times via email and phone and have not been able to get ahold of a real person. Have left multiple messages.....heard nothing. Perhaps this isn't a decent company to but a computer from. I'll keep trying. Spent a lot of money for the keyboard not to work. Computer is alright. Should have sent it back to walmart instead of the company.
