My 8yo granddaughter wanted a "detective" themed birthday party. I bought two of these spy costumes; one for her and one for my 7yo niece. They had a great time searching for clues, questioning suspects, and doing cool secret stuff. It was a perfect fit for their curious minds. No unicorns, no LOL surprises, just imagination and a secret decoder! Best part was when my granddaughter said "this is better than Barbies!" Score!!

My younger son (7 years old) loves this costume set! This includes everything that you need to pretend to be a spy. He opened it at my parent's house and was sneaking around all day, spying on everyone. The glasses were his favorite part because they have reflectors on the outside edge of the interior lens that allows you to see behind you! I thought that part was really neat too! The jacket and hat are a really good quality, much nicer than I expected and higher quality than most Halloween or play costumes. The decoder was not something that really interested my son. Overall I highly recommend for pretend play or Halloween! I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.
I gifted the costume to my nephew and he was so excited to wear it and go around the house looking for clues. The quality of the costume is pretty decent and can last upto ~15 washes. The decoder lens and the coded message card stand out as the kid wanted to show it to all his friends and was enjoying decoding it or making new puzzles out of it. The Melissa and Doug Spy Role Play is a fun dress up set that my daughter put on as soon as we opened it. The jacket is great, hat a good fit, and glasses were fun. One suggestion I have is to have better accessories. I had a batman spy binocular set that would be neat to add to this.
