I am writing this review because Walmart invited me to review it. It's a Kerosene Can. It holds the Kerosene very welI. It does not leak. It's blue. It matches my Levis.
I don't like the spout. I am using my old can's spout because the one that comes with this won't work with my heater. I wish it was a curved spout. Oh well
I wonder if the designers who fashioned the spout ever had to fill a kerosene heater. Typically the heater is at floor level. You can not rest this spout reliably on the edge of the fill hole in order to release fuel into the heater. Additionally, the spout is submerged into the fuel when you close the container. This means when you open it, you are presented with a drippy mess. Please, give me a simple flexible spout that I can open and close with a stopper or snap top. Much better for the environment and my house. If I can locate a one piece cap that fits, I will lose this terrible spout. It is a big messy spill just waiting to happen.. Yes, the can holds kerosene and doesn't leak. But that desirable feature is defeated by the over designed nonfunctional spout.
If I could give it negative stars I would! If I could reach out and slap the person who designed this....I would! The first can I bought last year was ok. I dont use the spout for filling my heater because it's a pos like every plastic can today. I just use a pump to transfer the fuel. However I just bought a new container this year so I would have another to rotate. Come to find out some genius decided to place a giant plastic "spark arrestor" on the can. So now not only is the spout a useless piece of garbage, you can't even get a siphon pump into the can! Seriously!?!? Before it's all over with, it will just be easier to load the stupid heater into my car, take it to the station, and fill it with kerosene.......
too bad 0 stars isn't available. The lid with teeth is impossible for 1 person to use alone. I couldn't get the spout to open, so couldn't pour from it. This spout and lid system Ameri-can brand uses is garbage. Wish I'd known that before I wasted my money on it.
Junk unless you like to smell like gas after it leaks all over you and the ground. Whoever designed this should be smacked in the head. Piece of garbage.
I am surprised at how badly this thing was designed. The spout comes out almost straight vertical. This means, in order to pour directly into the tank, you have to hold the 5 gallon jug completely upside down. On top of that, when I used it, it didn't seem to have an air intake to prevent a vacuum when pouring, either that or it wasn't working. So every few seconds it would stop pouring and then pour really hard. Good luck not spilling it everywhere. This thing belongs in the "You had one job" category.
