Alaffia EveryDay Body Lotion is my every-day-go-to for a smooth, absorbent skin moisturizer with a lovely scent. I am in my early 60's with normal to dry skin that I moisturize daily with EveryDay shea body lotion. I choose Alaffia due to its commitment to empower African communities through the advancement of Fair Trade, education, sustainable living and gender equality; environmental sustainability and non-GMO products and for being cruelty-free. It's easy to make a commitment to supporting Alaffia when the products they produce are so good.
Finding a lotion that smells good and doesn't irritate my skin has become almost impossible until I found this product. Last my whole work day (10 hour shift) with a long lasting amazing scent and utmost moisture. I've been telling everybody about this product, my new everyday.
I fell in love with Alaffia leave-in hair conditioners (for my over-processed hair) at BeautyCon in Los Angeles, 3-yrs ago. Took a chance on a new one with this body lotion and fell in love all over again. The coconut body lotion smells fresh, not "perfume-y", not at ALL greasy or "glycerine-y" yet distributes easily over the skin's surface. I noticed the most superficial layer of my skin was still hydrated in the morning. I always judge and "test" moisturizers by looking close-up at the skin on my calves. Drug-store moisturizers have failed this test, as have flavored "mall"- body lotions. I am excited to have found the perfect balance of refreshing, effective, and topped with the subtle scent of coconut that always feels "cheery" and "earthy. In a word: Perfect!!!
Love this product. The scent is subtle and sublime
This lotion's consistency and smell are absolutely exceptional, bar none. It's light when applied yet substantially hydrates. I need to wax poetic about the smell - it's sublime - as if sunshine and rain got married in a bottle.
I love the container size, smooth texture and skin soft results!
Although I love the feel of the lotion I'm just a tad disappointed by the smell. Still, it smells good but not as good as the lavender.
I was surprised to find I did not like this lotion. It was not as thick as I desired and did not make me feel moisturized. I was ashy by midday which is pretty unusual for me. I wonder if maybe I got a bad bottle or something since it has pretty good ingredients. I would be willing to try a moisturizer from Alaffia again, but I would likely go with a butter instead of a lotion.
seems like water in a lotion bottlenwith a hint of cocnut .... not worth it.
I have the worst time finding good coconut body lotions with minimal ingredients, they keep being discontinued or reformulated. And this is the latest one that has, sadly, been reformulated into a subpar product. I received a new bottle and it smells awful! It can only be described as moldering damp dirty dishcloth. Unusable. The ingredients list has doubled— here's the old list: Coffea sp. (Coffee Berry) Aqueous Extract, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Stearic Acid, Emulsifying Wax, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Water*, Aromatic Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Ascorbic Acid I'm so disappointed, this was the last good lotion I could find that ticked all the boxes for me. I have to now go hunting to see if anyone has any stock left on the old one.
