[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was a long wait to receive the Samsung Family Hub refrigerator but was well worth it. First impression after XPO installation was “Wow”, it's beautiful! The fridge looks and performs like a high end refrigerator w/exclusive features along with all the bells & whistles! It's an elegant masterpiece of an appliance that is a one-of-a-kind. I find myself playing with the Family hub app for hours & got so engaged that I totally lost track of time. BTW, before you start browsing & get lost in all of the new techs; make sure to connect the fridge to Wi-Fi & perform the software update. There are so many features with the new Tizen 4.0 version. Just imaging playing with a giant iPad or tablet that has so many aspects and specs. It's voice activated so I asked Bixby things like what's the current weather, reminders, morning briefs, turn on YouTube so I can do a cook-along, find a recipe for dinner, etc. From the family hub app on the fridge, I can view inside the fridge w/out opening the door, adjust/monitor refrigerator/freezer temperature settings, get a ride from Uber, order dinner, etc. There are just way too many apps and features to discuss on here. The refrigerator itself is very spacious lined w/chic blue LED's that compliments to the modern style w/plenty of storage enough for a big party. It cooled down very quickly while the freezer section started to make ice w/in hours. I Idefinitely recommend download the SmartThings app so you'll be able to control the refrigerator or view inside your fridge while you're at the store & want to check in/see what you need to pick up for dinner and/or condiments. The SmartThings App can also connect the fridge to your smart phone so you will be able to get notifications such as the fridge door is left opened, water filter is due for replacement. You can also mirrored your TV to match the Family Hub screen to stay connected to a show that you're watching w/your family but needs to go prepare dinner but don't want miss the show. One thing I noticed is that the speakers that came with this 2020 model are excellent. The sounds and bass are crisp without distortion at high volume. Btw, if you have the ring doorbell or camera, it can also be connected to the fridge as well so you'll be able to communicate to whoever is at your front door through the fridge. The Family Hub is basically my smart command center for my home since I own quite a few Samsung products such as starting laundry remotely, edit/check cycle.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fridge is huge! It's much bigger than I had imagined it would be. It is one thing to see them in stores and another thing when it is in your own kitchen. Our old fridge was full. This fridge held all the stuff from the old, new stuff, and still has plenty of room for more stuff. It makes everything so much colder than our old one did. My husband loves cold drinks. He would always stick them in the freezer or use ice. With this fridge he no longer has to stick drinks in the freezer or use ice. He absolutely loves it. It makes ice fast, but we haven't used the ice besides in coolers. I love the hub on the front. I'll be in the kitchen doing dishes or something and I'll play music on the hub. The sound quality is great, nice and loud. I haven't used the camera while in stores yet, only while home playing around. I've noticed the camera doesn't get everywhere, like the side doors. That isn't a huge deal for me but might be for some. I've played around with making grocery lists but haven't actually viewed them while in store. The fridge makes a sound to alert you the fridge is open after so long. This is great for instances where someone doesn't shut it all of the way. It would also be great for people with younger kids. I'm loving this fridge so far. This thing can tell what is in your fridge! It can even give you recipes by what is in your fridge. This is great to keep inventory of what you have in your fridge. Some stuff it recognizes correctly and some stuff it doesn't get correct at all. The items can be edited if you want. One day I need to correct what it put and get a correct inventory going. Right now, I'm not bothered by it and haven't taken the time to do it. Everytime I go into the kitchen or look in there this fridge brings a smile to my face! If you have a cat that likes to get in the fridge this helps with that. One of our kitties liked getting in the old fridge when you opened it. He always wants food. This fridge mostly stops this. He has figured out how to get on the freezer handle to get up in the fridge but has only done that once. We no longer have to continue getting him out of the fridge everytime we open it. My mom came down and she liked this display of pics on our hub. My daughter took something out of the fridge and this thing knew it, so smart! We learn more and more about it everyday it seems.
I bought this 3 months ago and it have been part of our family. Spacious and provides all the smart features. I have completely shifted to Family Hub screen from my phone. Great features and even Kids are loving it.
we have owned our samsung for 3 weeks. we love our new fridge. it gives us twice as much square footage than our kenmore elite side by side fridge (now in the basement). the first week we had a problem with the ice maker. contacted samsung support who suggested a reset (unplug for 30 seconds) that worked! the ice maker works like normal. everybody loves the family hub. they just stand there watching the pictures scroll or asking alexa to play tunes or check the scores or the weather. recipes occasionally just pop up, we downloaded the app. we can raise or lower the fridge temp from the app and can also access the shopping list. we love our new fridge and we highly recommend the fridge!

the refrigerator arrived damaged, i called samsung the day of the damage and they promised me a 10% refund. no such credit was given. i called a 2nd time because no credit was issued. i spoke with someone from e-commerce who created a ticket of service for someone to come out and look at the damage (because it was outside of the 14 day window, even though i called within the window) the technician never showed because i'm out of their area of service, they canceled the ticket, said there's nothing else they can do. so i called back, and they created a 2nd ticket. i sent pictures of the damage, and again had the ticket canceled. i called a 4th time, was transferred from e-commerce to warranty, back to e-commerce, back to warranty, placed on hold and the call disconnected after 18+ minutes.
We've had this refrigerator a year and it quit making ice. We are very disappointed in this, especially for what we paid for it. It's also making a very loud noise when the fan fan kicks on.
Bought ours a fews years ago. The ice makers are notorious for not only being slow to release ice thru the door, taking 20 seconds or more to fill a normal cup with ice, but they are notorious for freezing up. We have to manually defrost ours every 3 months or so. Most importantly, the touch screen stopped working after a couple years. Lights are on, screen permanently displaying a white update message. No way to bypass it or use the screen, no way to shut off the bright, white frozen screen. Forever.
so after spending almost $3,000, refrigerator doors were not working after 7 days. i tried to contact customer service which is impossible, had an appointment for 2 weeks after and when the tech came to the house they said that they couldnt to anything that i had to contact best buy to fix it. so i haven't owned the refrigerator for more than 1 month and i already regret my purchase. really bad quality refrigerator and worst non-existent customer support from samsung
I purchased this refrigerator because of one of the features and they just removed that feature - with no options to keep it!! I paid for that feature - and they essentually stole it from me. Shame on you Samsung! You just lost a lifetime customer Samsung. Ps - this review was already rejected once because they stated I didn't follow guidelines but I assume it was because they didn't like being called out.
