I truly don't understand the negative reviews. I eat this product at LEAST 2-3 per week ( for the past decade). It's so delicious on its own, mixed with veggies, in a taco/burrito, with pasta/rice or mixed with any dish. The versatility is endless. It's also so low calorie which is huge for me before my upcoming wedding. I don't know what I would do without this product. I received ZERO compensation or incentive to say this. I just really really love this product and have for years.
Very very delicious. I made tacos with this. Ortega low sodium seasoning packet. It looks more like finely chopped steak. Not ground beef crumbles like the other brand. Not salty at all. Unlike ground beef it's light and won't bind you up. I buying more.
This was surprisingly really good! I was scared because of the one star reviews but they didn't cook it right I'll assume! I used it as taco meat and even my picky kids ate it!! Cook it in some oil and don't overcook it! That's where it can get mushy! Can't add photos because it was gone fast!!
Morningstar is becoming one of my favorite brands for quick meals. For a long time I would not eat fake meat, but have recently found i like some of them. I had been especially repulsed by fake ground meat or 'crumbles' so was very surprised that I actually liked these. I am on a tight budget and vegetarian 'meat' brands are expensive. I appreciate that Morningstar is at the lower end of the range and that their products are easy to find and make.
Tough and spongy. Seriously Kellogg's, how do you make a plant based product the consistency of tough ground beef? The Garden Veggie Burgers are a favorite, so I expected the same from the Crumbles. Ruined a large pot of chili. Yuk
For years I used the Morningstar Farms crumbles in place of everything from hamburger to pork (in my meatless meat pies). But with the change from vegetarian to vegan formula, when you cook the crumbles now, they just become this gross mushy mess. So disappointing. I will no longer be buying this product and will be looking for another vegetarian option for my lasagna, spaghetti sauce, and my meatless meat pies. You may have pleased some people when you went vegan, but not all of us.
I wanted to make tacos but when I cooked the crumbles they turned into a mushy pate. The crumbles didn't hold their consistency like they used to. I ended up being a waste of all the other ingredients purchased for the meal. I don't know what was changed, but I won't be buying these again.
I have been using Griller Crumbles for decades as a substitute for ground beef in spaghetti, enchiladas and soups. You all keep changing them for the worse. This time, it looked exactly like canned cat food while I was cooking them, and took twice as long to heat through. They ruined our meal that night. Quit trying to improve the nutrition profile. People who want health food probably won't be eating this stuff, and many of us are happy with something reasonably healthier than ground beef. And flavor and texture are still incredibly important elements for a meat substitute. But if you're going to give me cat food, I'll either use real ground beef, or find another soy-based substitution.
I bought these crumbles as a filling for tacos. They were awful. If I had a choice to eat these again or go hungry - I'd choose the latter. This was the worst meat substitute I have ever had. Bummer smell, bummer flavor, bummer texture.
It's not what we ordered. I asked for a refund and I have to take it back to the store. I have to pay a monthly payment for delivery but I am having to waste more money to return to the store. This is the second time we had this happen over the same product. why pay for delivery if I have to pay for gas as well?
