This chair was so easy to assemble. My 12 year old and I put it together in about 20 minutes; the instructions were quite easy to understand. This chair looks very classy thanks to the modern black and chrome color scheme. It's got a very tall back and a wide seat making it accommodating for just about anyone! This is honestly the most comfortable office chair I have ever sat in; it's like a recliner/office chair hybrid. My son has been sitting in it while he plays Xbox and he actually fell asleep in it twice. I did find it extremely easy to clean with just a damp cloth. I dont have one negative thing to say; this chair exceeded my expectations and then some!
Perfect for a 6ft 4in man!!! And he had to have something he can sit in all day because of work at home... the memory foam , easy assembly, arm rests fit perfectly, good looking in an office full of books. Thanks for early delivery, (note, my son ordered 3 different chairs on line, but mom came through with the perfect Serta from Walmart) !!!!!!!!
The box this chair comes in is very large and weighs 65 lb. Even the delivery man had a little trouble handling it. Assembly was easy only taking about 20 minutes. This chair comes with a nifty tool that has a handle on it for extra leverage making Assembly even easier. Back and seat are well padded. The back and seat are covered in a attractive dark brown vinyl. I got this from my husband who is 6 ft tall 200 lb. He says it is very comfortable. His only "complaint" is that he would like the chair to stay in a more reclined position when he leans back but this chair springs forward. This chair is being marketed as being big and tall but it does not appear to be any wider or taller than any regular executive chair. The space between the armrests is 21 and 1/4 in wide. Overall, a wonderful chair and I highly recommend it. Putting the chair together was very easy in comparison to others I have assembled. It took only one person and quick and easy to follow instructions. The wheels move around quietly and smooth. The height of the chair back is perfect if you are tall and the depth of the seat makes sitting in it very comfortable. There is plenty of room if you have wider hips or legs and the arm rests aren’t digging into your thigh. The material is very soft and is holding up very well over time. As a larger person, I can say that the cushion is made very well to support plenty of weight. If you are not a tall person, the chair is still for you because the height is adjustable as well. The back support is amazing. It really gives you the luxury feel without the large price tag. The head rest is a bit far back for me to use comfortably but that is an issue with every chair I have used. The lean is just right and the handles to adjust the height and lock the chair in place are very well made and easy to use. The chair is designed for big and tall but I would recommend to anyone looking to work in comfort and style.
Working from home it is imperative that you have a great chair. Unfortunately, I spent well over a year getting out of my seat limping, and I genuinely thought that sitting all day was the problem until I received this chair. This was absolutely a life saver! It is as comfortable as a recliner, and easy to clean. Serta didn't disappoint.
Wow! This chair is so unbelievably comfortable. Most chairs I've owned had a comfortable seat but the back wouldn't be thick. This one is comfortable EVERYWHERE! It has all the stuff most office chairs have like the raising/lowering & tilting. I raised it up as high as it would go and then lowered it and I literally bounced in the seat! Not from the chair but from the cushion, that's how much padding is in the seat. Another small detail Serta included that I appreciate is the tool you use to put it together( Allen wrench) has a handle so it's much easier to tighten screws with than the normal ones. Some measurements are, Arm rest are 21" apart on the inside and 26" apart on the outside. From the floor to the top of seat on low setting is 20-1/2"inches tall and 23-1/4" inches tall on high setting. Arm height from floor is 27" on low and 29-3/4" on high.
Assembly was about as expected, nothing crazy. We love the handled allen wrench!! This is a sturdy chair, the base is solid. Good quality wheels. Supportive cushions. The faux bonded leather has a soft, buttery feel. I believe it is bonded leather on the seating surfaces and regular vinyl on the back side, but it all blends fine and looks top notch. I was worried this would be a ginormous chair, being labeled "Big & Tall". My husband is 5'11" and around 200 lbs (shown in photo) so not necessarily "big and tall" but he wanted a chair which would seat him up a little higher than his old one, and this does. But it doesn't feel overly big for him or swallow him up so that's good. And nice to know it has a 400-lb weight limit for sturdiness. A few reviewers complained that the recline feature was too stiff and they couldn't push the seat back to lean. However there is a turning knob under the chair that changes the "tension" or resistance of the seat back. You can also lock the recline feature so it doesn't go back at all, using the height adjustment lever on the side.
It was a privilege to have the opportunity to try this Big and Tall Executive Chair with memory foam by Serta. I basically live in my desk chair at home. I use it for paying bills, working on the computer or watching a show or movie online. I have been wanting one of these big and tall chairs for some time since I am oversized and it’s difficult finding an office chair that will last awhile without breaking the bank. My current chair’s seat went flat in under two months. Since then I’ve been using pillows, folded up blankets, anything I can find to add padding so it’s not like sitting on a board. The first thing I noticed about this Serta chair was the thickness of the cushion. Between the memory foam and coils, you can feel the support. It doesn’t compress when I sit on it like other chairs have. Putting it together took me around a half hour on my own, but that was taking my time. I’m sure someone else could do it in about half that. Pieces all fit together easily and instructions were clear. Thank you to whoever thought to add a handle on the allen wrench that comes with this chair. You are a hero to all of us. The base and arms are a shiny silver metal that is very sturdy and I have no doubt can easily hold the 400 lbs. it states. The chair itself runs around 65 lbs. I was surprised the casters weren’t metal as well. If you are larger, sometimes desk chairs are not wide enough and you have to live with the arms biting into your hips and thighs. I did not find that a problem here. However, the seat was short on me at first. There is a lot of lower lumbar support. Too much for me and I couldn’t sit far enough back so I constantly felt like I was being tipped forward. This is getting better the more I use it as the back and seat are softening and conforming a bit more to my body. Time will tell regarding durability, but it’s already clear to me this chair is far better than any I’ve had before and for not much difference in price.
This chair was first of all extremely easy to put together. It comes with everything I needed basically to put it together. From there I just followed the directions and set it up. The chair itself is so comfortable! I love that it is tall enough for someone my height. I also love the feel of the seat! It has the same memory foam kind of cushion my bed and pillow have so I can sit in it for hours at a time without extreme pain in my legs and back. It has the look of an elegant office chair and I have it right in my home. It also has a gentle braking system to lower and raise the chair as well as move the chair up and back when I need to. This chair is really amazing! I would definitely recommend this product to my friends and family!
This office chair is LARGE (it is actually big and tall) and it comes pretty much unassembled. The box was very heavy. It is best to have at least two people lifting it. I just pushed it inside the house only having to lifting a corner to get it over the door threshold. It’s big and heavy, but everything was packed very well. Overall, assembly was not bad. From opening a box to being completely finished, it took me about an hour. But, I had a little issue with putting on the back of the chair. It’s heavy and i had trouble aligning the holes from the back and the arm rests. And putting in the bolt covers was harder for some than others. The finished product looked really good. And it is VERY comfortable to sit in. I had someone that was over 250 try it out and he had no complaints and fit into it without squeezing into it. It can be adjusted up and down, but I was not able to adjust the back to recline. I think I might have made the bolts too tight? It didn’t matter because it feels just fine where it is. How reclined should one be when they are working? It spins around smoothly. In addition to the size and feel of the chair, the rich, dark brown color makes it that much more luxurious.
