My son who is six years old (and tall, therefore 20" bike) loves his new bike especially that it has a kickstand which his first bike did not have. Well built, mostly. The brake levers are a little tough to pull for my six year old but otherwise no complaints at all. Matches his dad's silver bike.
My son is 9 and he is thrilled with this bike. We are military stationed in Korea and there was NOTHING available in this area below $140.00 so we ordered it online. The whole transaction went great and he LOVED his choice. He rides his bike EVERYDAY and has NO complaints.
ok, i bought this bike and not many of my friends like it but i LOVE IT! the shocks are awesome, the bike is on the heavy side so u cant do stuff like endos or stoppies or wheelies but its a good bike. its been beat up alot and it still works. i went down a very steep hill called monastery and was going about 50 miles an hour no joke. but i went in the grass, hit a bump, went over the handlebars, my bike flew like 10 feet away and the only after all of that, o yeah, and it flew into a creek full of rocks and after all of that one of my handlebreaks is a little harder to squeeze and the other one is stripped and i never use handle breaks so it was fine. so it takes alot of damage, ive did way worse things, like going down a dirt hill and have lost my bike going down the hill and its been flipped slammed and its fine besides handle bar breaks. it may have a not so pretty colour but its a awesome bike. all though it would be better if it had free pedal spin though. or whatever its called....
I purchase this bike for my 8 year olds birthday and because of the color and price, it was wonderful...but the first day that he rode it, and tried to park it with the kick stand (jiffy stand), the bike fell over on the stand and bent it to no repair! And it also bent the plastic chain guard! So I had to take both of them off in order for him to continue to ride the bike. I usually take things back to Walmart, but for the price of the bike, my son didn't really need a kick stand.
This is a great bike for the price. Easy to put together, rides and stops smoothly. The bike even looks great, better after we received than what was pictured. And whats most important, my youngest son thinks "it's cool dad".
I got this bike for my tenth birthday. I am about ready to turn 14. I am about 5 feet now and was about to grow out of it. I was very rough with this bike. For example, i would throw it at the curb at a local school and see how high it would flip and how hard it would fall. It held up with barely a scratch. This bike was the best bike I had and now I have outgrown it. It recently broke when i was racing with my friends. The chain and bolts finally gave out. But this was because I had it a long time. This is an excellent bike for 8-12 year olds. The only problems I have had was a flat tire and the handlebars. Just make sure the bolts are tight! Just care for the bike, keep it in a dry place, and this bike will last a long time!
We ordered the bike online so we were not able to do the free assembly that comes with the bikes in the store. It was not the easiest to assemble and the instructions weren't always clear. There are several tools needed for assembly and it is not always indicated what size is needed so there is a lot of trial and error involved. Once assembled, the only problem so far is that the handlebars, tightened as much as possible, move off-center if the bike lands on them, such as during a gentle fall while learning to ride. Otherwise it seems sturdy and well-constructed.
I know Walmart bikes get pooped on all the time but I have to say that the Next Turbo was the greatest bike i had as a kid. Obviously it won't do for a teenager or someone who does hardcore mountain biking but it will definitely handle your kid's endeavors. I got this bike when I was 8 years old and used it until I was probably about 12, riding ramps and stairs and all sorts of stuff. Believe it or not I never had a problem with this bike other than flat tires and slipping the chain (unavoidable on any bike). Looking back on it- this bike was the perfect bike for a kid just getting into biking if they are interested in ripping it up. I am actually fixing it up (its about 8 years old at this point) just for the fun of abusing it.
We ordered for Christmas presents to be sent to the nearest store in Little Elm Tx where my grandchildren reside. Wal-Mart has a winner here. The ease of ordering and delivery was terrific! The product was assembled when we arrived to pick it up and my oldest grandson (who is 9 yrs. ) loved his new bike! It seems to be very sturdy and it is a good looking bike for the price and ease of purchase.
I purchased this bike for my 7 y/o son for christmas he rode it a few minutes and we put it out back until spring. He was able to ride it a total of 4 times be fore the problems started. The handlebars have stripped out 2 times. I will say my local walmart has agreed to resolve this problem and I hope they can because I will not be happy if not. I will post a follow up about this once I return from the bike guy later today
