Versatile and compact! However, it is expensive for a bit of plastic. Also, American consumers pay far much less for the same product than us here in Europe!
So I was so excited to use my rebate to purchase the 48oz container. I was attempting to use a small mini-chopper but it was not doing the job so I dumped the contents into my 48oz container and turned it on.Unbeknownst to me, the blade from the mini chopper was also dumped! It scratched up my brand new container and I think the blades are damaged! I was then and remain today totally devastated! I love my Vitamix. This was my faux pas☹️
Perfect size, I use it every day, I make a lot of smoothies and soups!
We purchased the 48 oz container for our Vitamix and use it almost every day. It is just the right size for our family of two and fits nicely under the counter.
My daily go to morning smoothie making container. Work's great on my 34 year old Vitamix TNC Blender.
Now I leave it on my counter all the time!!! No need to keep bringing it out of the closet each time !
Fits under my cabinet! The 48” is perfect for my counter.
Have had my blender for 6 years. I purchased this container 1 month ago so it would fit on my base on the countertop. I do like the smaller size that is just right for our daily protein shakes. My biggest complaint is the same as many others, the container is so pretty when it is new, but quickly becomes cloudy and unsightly. In our state, we have very hard water, and if you don't dry every speck of water off immediately, it shows water spots that over time cannot be removed. I try to dry it daily, but sadly, if you are in a rush to get to work and can only rinse it and leave it to air dry, you pay the price. Also, this one has an open top handle which cannot be dried out and even if the rest is still pretty good, the handle has the water spots. I have figured out how to get it dry using a spoon handle and a napkin, but honestly, who has time to go through that process daily? The other complaint is the handle feels flimsy, probably because it is hollow and open on top. It feels like over time, it might actually break with repeated uses. The larger original container has a silicone handle that has a much sturdier feel. Why make it different? Lastly, why can't the container be made with glass? I did read the website's reason that they haven't found a suitable material that meets their standards, but still can't understand why glass wouldn't work on these high power machines. My guess is that the risk of accidental breakage due to glass and the high cost of them means less people would buy them. Maybe a silicone/glass mixture could be created? I wish I was that smart...
I bought this 48oz container because the 64oz one that came with my 7500 is too large for smoothies and small servings of frozen desserts. The smaller container great for smoothies, nut butters, sauces, and hummus. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because it's hard to clean. For anything thicker than a smoothie, food gets stuck to the metal ring under the blades. Blending with dish soap for 30 seconds, as recommended, doesn't get all the grime. I've tried soaking it in vinegar, to some avail, but for the most part I've resigned myself to having a not entirely clean container.
We have had our Vitamix for 2 years and we love it. The only problem is the interior or the plastic container scratches and gets cloudy making it visibly unattractive. Only dish detergent is used to clean it. We only use vegetables in the blender and avoid seeds and acidic substances such as lemons. I'm not sure why this interior deterioration occurs. If you could make a glass or Pyrex container that would be wonderful. But the plastic just doesn't compare with the quality of the machine.
