30" 4 Burner Gas Downdraft Cooktop
Key Features and Benefits: 17K BTU professional burner Provides the ability to use high-temperature cooking methods such as searing, stir-frying, and wok cooking as well as low temperatures suitable for simmering. 3-speed fan control Can be precisely matched to cooking needs, effectively removing steam, grease, and odors from the air. Electronic ignition and automatic re-ignition Lights burners with an electric spark instead of a pilot light. For more reliable performance, burners are relit if the flame is blown out. Full-width cast-iron grates Enhance the beautiful look of the cooktop and allow easy movement of cookware around the entire cooking surface. Downdraft ventilation Integrates the ventilation system into the cooking surface so that a separate hood is not needed. Smoke and odors can be removed and taken outside or filtered and recirculated inside. 5K BTU even-heat simmer burner A diffuser plate allows more control of the flame at the lowest setting, for more precise simmering and melting. 300 CFM exhaust rating Handles the venting requirements of high temperature cooking techniques like pan searing and stir-frying. Melt cap Melt chocolate or butter, simmer delicate sauces, or poach eggs on a low-power burner, thanks to a wider burner cap that shields and diffuses the flame to produce a gentler, low-power heat. Stainless steel knobs Enhance the look of the cooktop surface with sturdy construction that adds to their premium feel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a gas stove top and this Kitchen Aid seemed like an aesthetically pleasing one with nice grates and layout configuration for my kitchen island. The stainless steel presentation is attractive together with the control knobs. After installation, the look and functions do not disappoint. Much satisfaction on this choice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love it. Fast heat, quick cool down, never looks dirty, reasonable price. Beats the heck out of my horrible black glass electric cooktop. Thank you!
This is a wonderful cooktop. One of the best things about it, is the continuous grates. You can move pans around easily without spilling. I have not really used the very small burner yet, so I do not know how useful it will be. The rest of the burners have enough btu to heat up fast. I have been waiting to switch from electric to gas for 20 years, and I am very pleased with my choice. I absolutely love it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I needed a 30" downdraft cooktop to replace a 22 year old Jenn-Air model and this fit the bill. It was a direct drop in replacement. I did switch from electric to gas but the counter cut-out was fine. I also had to make some minor exhaust vent changes. This unit has a 6" exhaust but my vent is 5". I placed a reducer on the unit and plumbed it into the existing exhaust with a couple of new elbows. The supplied air filter is about 1 inch short of covering the entire exhaust. I was also missing two screw on one corner of the chassis. Just an oversight by the assembler. It is pretty easy to turn on the burners when you are cleaning it, so wipe gently. The fan noise is less than the old Jenn-Air. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Transitioned from kitchen aid electric cooktop to gas cooktop. Works great. Less work to keep clean. No buffing a ceramic top.
Overall a great stove top We've had it for about a year and works wonderfully. Only issue is the bottom knob rings all have come unattached and the decals have started to wear. Challenging to find remedies so would not buy this product again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to replace an older downdraft cooktop that had many issues. It came with the house we bought. This one looks nice, has even burner coverage and works as expected. That is, until the downdraft is turned on. Then the burner flames all get sucked towards the draft. The result is very uneven cooking, especially if you are frying. This might be a problem with all downdraft units but since this is our first, we don't know.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cooktop has been installed and looked good for the first few days only. Within less than a week, it got quite a few burn marks and other similar marks from just doing normal cooking for a family of four. We have tried all expensive and recommended stainless steel cooktop cleaners to remove these stains and marks, but to no avail.
The biggest issue is that when using the downdraft at any level, it significantly draws the amount of heat from reaching the pan(s) - almost to zero with fan going full on and smallest burner. Perhaps the grates are too tall, but with 4 different BTU burners it's a nightmare to know what temperature you're really running without using a handheld gauge. High, medium high, medium don't exist. Low may be lower than safe to use if fan running. Purchased this to replace cracked glass electric cooktop and installed gas line $$$. Really disappointed and have purchased a single induction cooktop to use for most things since. (my cooktop is the Jenn-Air black model which is the same model/company as this but wrote here because there is no JA equiv)
We purchased a home where the seller agreed to replace the cooktop and this is the one they installed. You have two choices: 1) Vent the fumes from the burners as recommended by every agency that has ever studied the health of cooking with gas, or 2) actually heat your food. The downdraft vent, on low, sucks the heat from the burners and cuts their effectiveness below that of a cheap electric range. You can hear the flame struggling against the air, fluttering for its very life. Do not recommend.
