The sewing machine works very well. I am glad I purchased it.
I brought this machine to learn the basics of sewing. With it I have made serveral projects and any hiccups have been due to my own fault. Not the machine. Best starter machine. Would definitely recommend to anyone that is interested in learning how to sew.
Great sewing machine for beginners! I purchased this sewing machine as my first time sewing and I could not have been more satisfied with my purchase. I had always wanted to learn how to sew and was very intimidated by both the price of most sewing machines and the amount of features. This sewing machine turned out to be a perfect one to start off with. I am going on 3 years with it now and have created many beautiful garments and projects and have learned so much! I'm passionate about sewing now and thankful for my faithful machine, haven't had not one problem with it. Its self oiled so I don't have to worry about that, the LED light still works, I can easily replace the needle when needed, and have no problems winding the bobbin. The DVD and instructions were very helpful for me as well when I first opened the package and walked me through how to use my machine without problems. I hope to venture into embroidery at some point as well and am already doing research on other Brother products. Good quality products!! A customer for life!
I wanted to learn to sew and wanted to make blankets this year for all the girls in my family for Christmas. I found this on sale and could not pass it up.. It came with the CD and the book that made it easy to use. I am no pro but I was happy how easy it was to use!! I can't wait to see what else I can learn to do!!

Love it. Easy to follow instruction video really helped a novice like me.
Lightweight machine. Easy to move from room to storage. My granddaughter is 9yrs. old and loves it. It is easy to thread. Has great lighting. I love that it came with a foot pedal since she is a beginner. It does tilt when trying to open the bobbin area. She repaired her sweatpants and made a pillowcase on her first try.

The thread tension went - I mean there's nothing I can do to get a nice row of stitching. Now I'm finding out that this is a common problem with Brother machines. It was doing great for a month or so - this is not a machine for anyone who sews a lot.
