The first thing that makes this a great product is that it replaces several products. This is important when space is a premium. The accessories provided are highly useful. The unit itself is very attractive & relatively quiet in its operation. I love the drop down door design! I also am starting to love the design of the control panel. It gives you the feeling that you're operating a food replicator in a sci-fi movie! This is a different animal than most microwaves so there is a lengthy learning curve. Don't lose the manual!!! This unit has replaced a traditional, more powerful microwave so there is an increase in the time it take to heat or cook things. That being said, everything actually tastes better with this unit & that's far more important!
I am remodeling. This is the best option because I can use it now and build it in with the trim kit later. Previous reviews said there was not a quick start, but there is a 30 min add that all you have to do is hit that and push start (ok, two steps) to initiate the microwave cycle. I like the broil function and the convection although I have not used them enough to say they are great (will update later). Overall a great purchase especially given the reasonable price.
We have LOVED this microwave. It does it all, from grilling, to slim-fry, to convection baking! Oh yeah and it's a microwave! We had the previous model and upgraded to this larger one that better fit our space. I especially love the autocook functions. They're so accurate and take the guesswork out of reheating.
First the oven is heavy. It took my wife and I to lift it into place. Once set up I took the time to read the manual which is very importent because of the many setting the oven has. The first item we cooked was a piece of fish. Although the fish turned out good the smell of the fish is still present. The next item we tired was cooking a steak. We weren't impressed with the grill setting. The steak turned out good but there is nothing like a good outdoor grill. We then tried a whole chicken using the convection settings. The chicken cooked about twice as fast and turned into a great meal. We also tried the two different stands and they are a nice add-on when used with the supplied cooking plate. Over all a 5 star oven minus the grill feature.
The microwave is nice but I do not know how to use half of the stuff it comes with and there is no manual for it. It did not come with one and Samsung's site does not have one.
This may be a good oven/microwave choice if you are making an apartment or live in a very small space with no other oven. It does not cook any better or faster with the combination of microwave and convection or grill. The grill feature is weak. So if you are planning to use this in conjunction with a full sized oven do not recommend. If you are seeking to conserve space and use this as your primary oven and microwave then it is a good choice.
I had an earlier review about microwave breaking and sparking, the response was absurd, we know what not to put in a microwave, it sparks with anything at all in it including completely microwave safe bowls or slice of bread. Second problem, in trying to replace the microwave we discovered that the online specs for the trimkit are incorrect, the kit is actually about an inch taller than the spec. As a result, the cutout that was made when we remodeled the kitchen to accommodate the Samsung trim kit is an odd height and we can't find any other trim kit from another manufacturer to replace it. The trim kits from all the other manufacturers are roughly the height stated in the installation manual for the Samsung kit, but that spec is simply wrong by over an inch. This is going to cost a lot of money and time for new carpentry work. Whatever you do, don't buy this thing.
The microwave function has never worked properly. Warranty service has been terrible. They schedule then no show no call ; multiple times.

Hello dear Samsung. Please make this a better product by improving the user experience and user interface. The design does not allow for simple and intuitive controls but requires using your manual to look up how to do very simple tasks. It's time-consuming and inconvenient. I much prefer my cheapo microwave over this one. Your product engineers and product developers are much better than this and have proven themselves over and over again. I'm surprised they forgot the simple stuff on this one. Rule of thumb: always make it both a child and a rocket scientist will enjoy using the product. This is cumbersome and not a fun experience. Thank you guys.
