Bought this for the bedroom, I didn't check the room size and bought more than I needed. I rather have more than less, but 10,000 BTU's would have done the trick also. The fan is powerful and you can tell by the force of the cold air blowing and the noise it makes. It's not a quiet air conditioner but when it's HOT, I'll take the noise with the COLD air. We're happy with this purchase.
The RCA RACE 1202e is a great air conditioner. The unit is rated for 550 sf, but it keeps my 1200 sf apartment comfortable without any extra fans. The problem I had is that I paid WalMart for 2-day delivery. It ended up being 5 days ... it came with the bottom of the box damaged (FedEx) so that the warranty card and owner's manual were missing. I had to call RCA and ask them to send me the missing items. Getting hold of RCA is nearly impossible. I wound up calling about 6 different 800 numbers and finally, I got the right number from a totally different division of RCA. I don't know who is more at fault here, WalMart for using FedEx, or FedEx itself, for being so careless with the shipment of items they are paid to deliver in good shape. WalMart did credit me 10% back for the dreadful inconvenience I suffered during some high 90's weather.
My living room was always hot! I never really hung out in the living room, due to it being always hot. After, I installed this A/C more friends and family noticed the diffrence on how cool the living room/ two bedrooms were and we all typically just hang in the living room now stress and heat free.. I keep the A/C at 72 low and it cools it down nice. I live in Florida so the heat here is no joke, but this A/C gets the job done. It's deffentalty a great buy, I would recommend this product to anyone.
My husband and I spent weeks researching window units. This particular one kept making our top pick, but we kept second guessing it because there were no reviews for this unit anywhere online. Well, we took a gamble and it paid off! This unit has exceeded our expectations. The various modes and fan speeds help keep the front half of our house cool even in the triple digit heat of Texas. If you find this unit in your list of potential units to buy, I hope you find this review helpful.
After looking at many units and product reviews I settled on this 12,000 BTU RCA window unit and purchased it online walmart.ca , was delivered 2 days earlier than the estimated delivery date so that was great! been using it for a week now it was easy to install, works great and great value. I seen other reviews saying it is loud but I don't find this unit any louder than any other a/c unit it's suprisingly quiet for 12,000 BTU. This one unit cools my entire 3 bedroom townhouse, it cools spaces much larger than advertised. This unit is VERY heavy around 75 pounds so keep that in mind when buying, most 12,000 or higher BTU units tend to be on the heavier side so that was to be expected and was the same size as my old a/c unit so I knew it would fit my window. Comes with a very nice remote, different from the one advertised. Always measure the window and double check the product specifications to avoid unnecessary issues/returns. Definitely recommend this unit for value and operates great so far - very happy with this purchase. ☺⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This unit is nice and does the job of cooling the space .But the Uintah is quite loud and shakes even following the instructions. The compressor needs to be stabilized more it shakes pretty hard when it's on. If you can deal with the noise it works well.
Pros: It cools my one bedroom studio apartment very well. Both Rooms. God deal for the price. Cons: It doesn't fit in my window perfectly. I should have measured before I bought. Delivery was quick though it sat in the busy lobby of my building for several hours in a box labeled air conditioner on a warm day. Restored my faith in humanity, at least with my neighbors. I am happy with it won't return it. The Pros outweigh the cons
I'm happy with my purchase although it makes a bit of noise. I only have it about a month so far good.
I bought this unit to use in our primary living area when the HVAC went out and have been using it for 2-3 weeks. Seems to do the job, though the thermostat needs to be set about 4 degrees lower than the desired room temp. I set the unit to energy saver mode during the day while at work. It's a bit annoying that each time this change is made, the thermostat will reset to 79 degrees. Another 'negative' is the auger wheel type louvers, which somewhat limits setting the direction of airflow.
I would have been nice if the product information or specifications had validated the unit operated on 120vac and not 220vac. I purchased the unit after taking the model number and doing a Google search. I found the voltage on another site. With this information, I purchased the unit on the Walmart site. Even after the unit was delivered, the voltage and amp were not noted anywhere on the outside of the packaging. I did not know for sure until the packaging was removed. BTW...the unit works just fine.
