This is a great washing machine! As others have said, it comes with a ton of "bells and whistles," many of which I'm not sure I would use, but may come in handy in the future. The capacity is very large, and it automatically senses how much laundry is in the wash in order to determine how much water to use. It is very quiet. The control panel can be a bit difficult to decipher, and it is not altogether clear as to which parts of the panel are "buttons" or which parts just display the setting information. But after a bit of fiddling around, it is not that complicated after all. Therefore, the instructions can be a lot better. With the hardcopy instructions included with the washer, there are directions on getting a more "complete" instruction manual online. When I went there, this "more complete" manual did not include much more detailed information as I was hoping for. It definitely did not include instructions on how to connect the washer to my computer network to use with the smart phone app, SmarThinq. I even tried to go online with LG's IT support for washers and the rep was not able to help me. Eventually, I found help in a YouTube video. This washer also does not works too well with the app. For some reason, whenever I am not using the washer, it would show up on the app as "disconnected," while the dryer would show that it is "power off". Very strange. At first, I thought something was wrong and that I needed to reconnect my washer to my home network, but once I started to use the washer again, it would show it's correct status on the app. Overall, this is a great washer, but a better instruction manual as well as better implementation with the smart phone app would be better. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This front-loader is a HUGE improvement our existing front-loader washing machine! The LG Direct Drive motor spins the tub quietly and with authority. The pump motor for draining is also noticeably quieter-- the loudest things are now the sloshing of the water and the hiss/whoosh as water is added. One thing that I immediately noticed were the jets of water directed toward the clothes. In our previous washer, the clothes took a while to get wet and actually start washing. With the jets of water directed at the clothes as the tub spins, washing and rinsing are both faster and more efficient. There are so many functions so you can do any kind of wash: whites, towels, allergenic, heavy duty, delicates -- you name it, this washer can handle it! It even has a tub wash setting for when you want an automatic tub rinse! The dark charcoal cabinet has a smooth, lustrous finish, the center knob has a smooth mirrored finish that you can see yourself in, and the trim pieces are tastefully done. From the turning of the knobs to the opening of the door to the smooth rotation of the tub, this machine exudes quality. One tiny comment about the display area. The background of the display is jet black with light grey lettering. The contrast is legible but when the machine is on and the bright LEDs light up, it's a little tough to read the panel. That said, I rarely change the settings and the touch buttons work well, so it's not a big deal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I'll begin by stating that we replaced our 15 year old Kenmore Elite. This machine is bigger than our previous machine. The run cycles are shorter, which is great. Our clothes come out clean and smell clean. The spin cycle is extremely effective as the clothes come out damp, not wet requiring little time in the dryer. We like the option of many different cycles. And the app has been working most of the time for us, but that is low on our scale of satisfaction. I'm so proud of my hubby for making these gorgeous pedestals!! He's going to make a shelving unit to go between the washer and dryer.

First of the high capacity tub is amazing for large bedding, pillows, etc or just to catch up on large loads of procrastinated laundry! I couldn't even tell you how many options there are, but you can customize each cycle for water temp, pre treating, rinse time, soil level, and more! There is absolutely a setting for every wash you'll ever need. And even with its large capacity, its relatively quiet and hardly vibrates. Fantastic overall product!!! 10/10!!!

You can hear the machines when they're done, nice little tune they play, great quality products, quiet, dependable, very nice looking too. I have nothing negative to say except that I need my reading glasses to read the print but if that's the only negative, I'll take it.
I bought this about two months ago to replace a set of 14 year old KitchenAid/Whirlpool frond loading set. The dry died and was not willing to invest any money in repairing a set that old. The LG set fits perfectly. Uses less water and energy and they are much , much quieter. They are also very fast when using the speed functions. I don't normally use cold water to wash but I have tried it with this washer and the clothes get very clean. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Omg this washer! It's absolutely amazing. I've had lots of excellent washers before but not like this one. Its a smart washer. It connects to an app on my phone and tells me when my wash is finished. It used to take me more than an hour to do a normal wash. This washer zips right through and within 1/2 hour my wash is done and the clothes are so so clean with very little detergent. It has five powerful jets that surround your clothes and deep cleans them. And it's so pretty. A beautiful black steel finish. I show it off like some women show off jewelry. My life is changed forever now with this washer. With 5 children and a new baby it's a dream come true for me. The most amazing washer ever. I highly recommend it.

It cleans my clothes effectively. It can handle large loads and its efficient. I always had a top load washer, but since having this particular front load washer I have become a fan. Would Totally recommend it.
