I've had my Outsize a couple months and it's great! Flexible power and attachments gets a variety of jobs done from hard woods to vents, sills and ledges, to the car! I did buy a couple extra attachments and bigger attachments mount. On hard floors you get about 80min in Eco mode, 48min/Auto and 10min/Boost, per battery. I rotate batteries every other week. And it's not heavy.
I upgraded to the V11 Outsize - from the V6 Absolute - I love them both! The new features in the V11 Outsize are such convenient upgrades: it has a much larger chamber and is easier to empty in one step; the single head attachment is much easier, being able to sense and adjust from hard floor to carpet; the digital display showing battery life (and the extra battery!); and the ability to switch to 3 modes! I could go on and on - I show it to everyone I see and send pics of the amount it picks up daily. It is perfect for multiple animals - 2 Great Danes and 2 cats, that's a lot of fur. The only downsize is that it's a bit heavier than I am used to. It's an adjustment to how you hold it and you need to be careful not to twist your back while using it. Fun sidebar: the chamber when it's not connected to an attachment reminds of the a giant ray gun haha
My husband got it for me! I'm more than in love I call my Ferrari because the technology and the capacity that the V11 have is exceptional good plus the accessories for different type of cleaning.. Dyson you are the best
Wow, a cordless vacuum that finally rivals my corded upright! I have been a happy Dyson user for years. I loved when the cordless vacuums came out as they are quicker and easier to use than the bulkier uprights. But there were still enough shortcomings that the cordless version was only used as my supplemental machine. This newest edition of the Dyson Cordless, the V11, has addressed those shortcomings and then some! The biggest improvement is battery life. One battery on "Auto" lasted for almost all of my 2400 square foot home! And the next biggest improvement is that it comes with a SECOND battery, so even if your first battery runs out, you have an alternate one charged and ready to go. No more having to wait for a battery to recharge to finish my home! I also love the display on the top of the unit that lets you know exactly how much time you have left on a charge. The time automatically adjusts as you switch power modes (boost, medium, eco and auto) and floor surfaces. Speaking of floor surfaces, I love that the unit senses whether you're on carpet or flooring and adjusts suction on the fly. The next big improvement on earlier models is the dust bin. It is much larger than my V6 to hold more debris before it needs to be emptied. Also, when the bin is opened with the remote trigger, it now opens around the suction unit, too, for a thorough emptying of the whole bin from top to bottom. The vacuum head is wider than my old model allowing me to clean my floors with fewer passes. And the suction power is wonderful... no problem getting a deep clean on my carpets. The V11 also comes with an amazing array of attachments! I can easily switch between a full size vacuum to a handheld for all my cleaning needs. The only downside I found is that the heavier battery pack lends some weight to the handle and you need to use your own strength to keep the trigger on for operation, so your forearm will get a workout for extended cleaning times. Overall, I am thrilled with the power, charge life, debris bin capacity and versatility of this machine. The Dyson V11 cordless can finally become my primary vacuum!
It is a dream come true, the V11 battery runs for the entire time it takes to vacuum my 2 story house. I am a senior citizen and have no problem with the weight of the V11. I have 3 dogs and 3 birds, one of the dogs is a husky and 2 of the birds are macaws. Therefore, I vacuum a lot. The attachments click on with ease and the waste removal system is much easier than previous models. I have 2 Dyson up right vacuums and one V6 stick vacuum. I do not need them anymore. The option to increase or reduce the vacuum power is very useful and I like the red switch on the bottom of the main brush bar which also increases and reduces the vacuums sucking power. Very useful when cleaning throw rugs that would normally be sucked up off the floor. On regular mode the V11 is quieter than my up right vacuums. The digital display on the top of the vacuum is helpful because it tells me how much run time I have left. I am very happy with my Dyson V11 stick vacuum.
Keeping it 100%! This definitely could be a replacement for a Dyson Animal Ball. For reference I have the Animal Ball, V6, V8 and now V11. It is powerful, with three different features (Eco, Auto, & Boost). Here simply put are the pros and cons: Pros: - LCD screen that tells you how much battery life the vacuum has and can run for (time will change also based on power level used) Ie. 45 min for auto and 17 min for boost mode. - STRONG suction to pick up everything you normally would have on the floor and SUPER strong if you put on boost mode (practically "sticks" to the floor). Picks up rice, glitter, crunched cereal - easy and improved functions. When hair or something gets stuck in the bottom part, there is an easy switch to open and remove versus finding a coin to open. Filter is a simple twist off to clean monthly. There is a part holder on the long stick part (lol idk what they are called) but it holds extra head parts in the case you want to switch it out. Makes it super easy. - come with an extra batter and charger- say what??! - looks heavy but its not - EASY switch to dump out the trash and not create any type of mess in the process Cons: - obviously doesn't last as long as the Animal Ball...so you would need to keep the other battery charged if you have a large space to clean (like a 5000 sq ft house). That will give you a total of 90min of vacuum time on auto mode. - must have your finger on the button to vacuum, so your finger could be a little tired after 90 min, but its not that big of deal for me Overall, love this vacuum and so glad I have it. It is PERFECT for our family. I have a dog, cat, 3 year old, 22 mth year old, my hubs, and myself in my 1200sq ft. home. So you could imagine that I would use the vacuum quite often. It was easy to install and keep out of "danger" of my LOs. Get your Ray Gun NOW!!
I have had the V11 Outsize for 3 weeks now and cannot begin to describe the difference it has made in my daily cleaning. Compared to my previous V6 Motorhead and my DC21 vacuums, the Outsize combines the power of a corded and the flexibility of the cordless in one machine. The extended time with up to 120 mins allows me to clean the whole house without compromising the performance. Having two batteries allows for uninterrupted cleaning. The full size High Torque XL cleaner head combined with the three different power modes, reduces the cleaning time. Furthermore, each power mode offers great advantages such as extended usage time, automatic sensing of surfaces that recognizes transitions such wood to carpet. I love how the large canister reduces the number of times you need to stop to empty the receptacle. The filter is so easy to clean, making the maintenance of my machine much easier and simple. For a person who owns pets, using the attachments is easy and very convenient. Picking pet-hairs, dust, sand or scratch pole shavings is a breeze. The Outsize outperforms the corded machine and the ability to do every without having to be pulling the cord behind me is just perfect. Extremely satisfied.
I got this about a week ago, first time I tried I was very impress. The suction is great, stronger than my V8. I like it when it goes from carpet to hard floor the suction automatically adapt using same attachment. The bin is big, you don't have to empty it often, it's nice when you are lazy :). It comes with 2 batteries and 2 chargers. this is plus plus, I have 3 floors house I place my 2nd battery and charger on 3rd floor. Overall is so awesome, the only thing is it's little bit too heavy, but i don't have to go back and forward often like used to be.
Our Dyson ownership began about a decade ago with a small upright which we loved. So naturally we eventually invested in one of the cordless models as well, the V8 Animal, which we also loved. But this V11 Outsized is even more AMAZING! Our home is 2-story plus a 3rd floor loft and about half hardwood and half carpet. The features we love about this new vacuum are: ***The Brush Head*** It's an all-in-one! No more switching heads when going from hardwood to carpet and vice versa. And the head is bigger than the V8 so covers more surface quicker. It takes a second or two transitioning between floor types but it makes a little noise indicating that it switched. ***The Canister*** It's huge!!! More similar to a small upright size instead of the typical smaller canisters found on the cordless sticks. Still the same easy emptying mechanism and it doesn't really add to the length of the vacuum that much. Now we don't have to empty every time we vacuum. ***The LCD screen*** Very simple but it's sooooo nice to know how much battery life you have left so you can adjust your vacuuming if needed. You can also choose eco/auto/boost mode to adjust for different cleaning needs and ultimately improve battery life. ***The Suction Power*** We've always been amazed at the amount of gunk our Dysons suck up but this one takes the cake! Don't know if we are just extra dirty (kids!) but we vacuumed our living room rug for our V11 Outsized's inaugural run and there was plenty of stuff in the canister. BUT, we had just vacuumed that same rug with our V8 earlier that day. ***The Battery Life*** OMG having 2 battery/charger packs included is awesome! It doubles the already longer battery life so we still have power after vacuuming the entire house. No more waiting for a recharge or vacuuming different areas on different days. It's been extra helpful being in a multi-story home since we just keep one battery/charger on the second floor (and we store the vacuum and it's current battery pack on the first floor). Then the extra battery is readily available when and where we need it. On top of all those features, you get the typical tools/attachments as well and it includes a clear accessory clip where you can store your favorite attachment directly on the stick. As an added bonus, our V8 attachments fit the V11 Outsized as well. The only minor drawback, which is more or less unavoidable, is that it is slightly heavier than our old V8. We don't feel it with light use but you probably wouldn't want to be holding it up vacuuming high (walls/ceilings/blinds) for very long. All the pros definitely more than outshine the slight size/weight increase though and we haven been recommending this to all our friends!
I love the improved battery life. No more charging to finish my house. I love the new wider floor brush. It has cut my vacuuming time down because I can make less passes. The best improvement is the dust bin. In my older model I have to use a screwdriver to get the hair and dust out of the bin. Not no more. The way the bin slides down to push the debris out is awesome. I will admit it, it is a tad on the heavy side. A neck/shoulder strap would help to take some of the load off your hand. This is by far their best vacuum and anyone looking to upgrade their current Dyson or to get rid of their corded vaccum, this is the one to get.
