The backpack has a terrific feature: the shoulder straps are hidden behind a zippered panel when not in use! This makes sure that the shoulder straps do no drag on the ground when wheeling the backpack. When the zippered panel is open so the bag is on your back, the panel folds underneath with a velcro snap. The pockets allow for multiple compartments: side padded laptop or tablet pocket; large central pocket, small pocket and finally pens/pencils utility pocket. The wheels are in-line type so retracted. The handle works nicely and has 2 extension settings. It is a wonderfully designed bag!
My son is a 2nd grader and he loves it. It is a big back pack and holds his lunch, coat and books, plus there's room for more stuff. It is great to also use as a weekend suitcase for going to his grandparents house. The only thing is it is kind of on the heavy side when he has to carry it on and off the bus when he can't use the handle to pull it.
My elementary school boys are required to use rolling backpacks, and I have had a hard time finding them in our local stores, so I turned to the web. As I was browsing, my 2nd grader immediately chose this backpack (based on looks alone). I liked the look too, but honestly I hesitate to purchase something that doesn't have any reviews yet, as this one didn't. Also, it was the least expensive (for this size of backpack) of any of the other ones I found, both at Walmart and the other sites I checked, which was great, but again made me nervous that I might be getting junk. Walmart has such a great return policy though, I figured it wouldn't hurt to order it, and if it was terrible when it arrived (site to store) I would just return it. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived! It is very nice, actually much nicer even than what my 2nd grader needs. The pockets and compartments are large and more than adequate. The zippers and handle seem like decent quality. There is a padded laptop compartment, which we obviously don't need, but my son thinks is really cool because it is somewhat a hidden compartment. There is a mesh side pocket for his water bottle. The wheels are nice, and it doesn't tip over when you stand it. My son also likes the feature where you can cover the wheels and use the straps if you choose (though again, he doesn't need to use it as a backpack). I only gave it 4 for durability since we have only used it for 2 weeks so far, so I don't know how well it will hold up, but I fully expect it to last the school year, assuming only normal wear and tear. My other son chose a different backpack from a different website (again, based on looks), which was $10 more expensive, but not a noticable difference in quality at all, in my opinion. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it for any child who has to carry a lot of books, as well as college students or anyone who might need to carry a laptop plus clothes/books.
The handle is sturdier than others I have seen and I really like that the backpack also has shoulder straps that stay out of the way when it rolls. Very roomy, nice construction. I can't say how durable it is since we haven't had it long, but exceeds my expectations in every way so far.
Love it. Just perfect for 4 days of travel clothes, etc. Has a padded spot for a laptop, too, but I don't have one just yet. Attractive. I ordered one red and one blue. Love them.
The quality is very good for the money. It has 3 major large pockets and many small places/pockets to organize items. The side entrance pocket for laptop has cusion at the bottom for protection. I bought it for my 9 year old kid who has many heavy books. He likes it. The single pole handle is easier to manuever compared to a frame handle. The roller wheels are smooth and quiet. A bit larger than a usual kids' back pack, perfect for students with many items to carry. It has built-in zippered cover for shoulder straps. The product quality and appearance is good enough for business daily use.
This pack is for my son to take to school. He loves it. So far it seems to be holding up. The pack appears to be the same quality as a friend's similar pack that cost 3 times as much. It does not have one deep compartment like a regular backpack but I realize it is geared toward computer transporting. The laptop compartment can be used for notebooks, though.
This is a very durable backpack.Overall I would say this backpack is well worth the money!!! My son loves the (large)side pocket. He fits his football pads, pants, short, and t-shirt in there with no problem. It also has two side holders that come in very handy for the two water bottles that my son carries on a daily basis. The handle adjust (long or short). There is a cool zipper in the back to store the shoulder straps when you want to pull the bag verses carrying it on you back. My only issue is that there is a pad built into the inside that takes up space my child could use for more school supplies. That pad is meant to cushion a labtop, or Ipad, ect, which is GREAT, but I wish it could be removed when it's not in use. I suppose I could cut it out if I were really desperate for the space.... I would have given it a five if I not for the pad issue. :)
i brought this backpack last year for my six grade daughter,it work well and last for the whole year, very happy with this product, so this year i brought another one.
Bought this for my son who is in the 5th grade because he has 6 heavy text books to carry everyday afterschool for homework. I'm pleased with the overall quality of this bag and it doesn't tip to the side when rolling like some other rolling bags do, so it's great. There is one negative though, the shoulder straps tore the first day my son tried to carry the backpack so he can't use the backpack portion; however, there may be a weight limit. The outside material seems pretty durable, including the handle and rollers, so the overall quality is pleasing and I say it's a great buy for the price. I'm really hoping this backpack will withstand the daily usage, so we shall see. I would highly recommend this backpack for travel and school use. Just be cognizant of weight when using the back pack straps.
