We did use a handyman to install it for us. The only thing that could make it better would be if it gave off a nice solid "thump" when we close the door.

I like some of the features such as Soften/Melt for butter stored in the fridge. Reheat and Popcorn is also nice. I like the happy sound it makes when it completes its cycle. Not at all like the loud, rude buzz from the previous model. Haven't tried the Steam/Simmer with the metal rack feature but it looks like it will be convenient to use. I still have much to explore! My only issue so far is being able to do a quick 1, 2, 3+ minutes like the old microwave. Overall, I would recommend.

We are glad we have this one as it does a great job at warming our food and plenty of options. I like the option of not having any sounds from pushing button or finished cooking. I was remodeling my kitchen and the old Microwave was purchased in 69!! It was way past time for an upgrade. The white looks great with the Whirlpool gas range. I like the Whirlpool name because I'm getting quality merchandise. It's a challenge to learn how to run it , the cheat sheet enclosed is invaluable help. I am learning. purchased in Feb, installed in March. It is a powerful machine. I would like to know if there is a pause feature, the stove lamp would be more helpful at the front of the stove. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave is a replacement for a different Whirlpool model. There are a number of differences we are still getting used to. So far, we are very pleased with its functionality. The chime is very different and it would be nice if it came with options for a different chime. We had Whirlpool install it, so expected a supremely professional job. It was not. I'm hopeful it won't fall down after the installers gouged out a bigger hole in the upper cabinetry than was required.

Like the style, the features for heating veggies, softening butter, etc. the interior is easy to clean. However I do miss the simple 1 min. Button I had on my previous microwave. After putting something in the oven you would simply press the 1 button and it would cook for 1 minute. The fan is also very good, with 3 speeds. I am disappointed with the lighting under the microwave. There is only one, not very bright light. I recently purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator and have the same concern about the lighting in the freezer. It's very poor while the refrigerator section is bright.

Thinner metal makes it sound "cheap" when opening and closing the door. Less programming options such as choice of sounds. When companies have to cut corners AND raise prices, only the customer looses. I had to order and return 3 of these to get one that was not dented on the front panel although there was no damage to the outer box. Very inconvenient. Retailers don't stock or display models like this so what you end up getting is a surprise.
