Been using this lotion for years. It's a great after shower lotion. I especially like that it's not scented.
I've tried a lot of lotions trying to find something that would improve my very dry, very sensitive skin. A. Lot. This one is one of the few that improve my dry skin without irritating it, or me, with perfumes. It's light enough that it absorbs fairly quickly, but substancial enough you don't question if it's doing anything. But what really gives this the edge over all of the others is that I can by a bottle at a reasonable price, use it on my entire body daily, and have that bottle last for well over a month. And knowing that my money helps good causes is just the cherry on top.
Love the formula! I mix one pump with this and another pump of moisturizing lotion because I like mixing my lotion concoctions. The alaffia lotion is a great base to mix in with other lotions since it's nice and thin but not drying and it doesn't leave this film of stickiness that makes you wanna wash it off which I hate in lotions. I'm giving it five stars for the clean ingredients and the lovely formula but my only complaint is the smell I chose which is the passion fruit. Everybody says it smells like sweet bubblegum and I agree however it's just nauseating having to smell this sweet scent everytime I put it on but that's my fault since I love my scents fresh NOT sweet so I'll most likely repurchase this lotion with a fresher scent or with the unscented version because I really love the formula! :)
I absolutely love this lotion! The smell is so warm and pleasant but not overpowering in the slightest. The formula is thinner than most lotions but I've found that doesn't matter at all because this has left my skin baby soft after just a few days of use. If you're not used to lotions without silicones it may take a bit to get used to this formula but this is probably the best lotion I've ever used! Highly recommend.
My skin has always been dry year-round, and also tight and flaky in the winter. Alaffia's Everyday Shea has been my go-to moisturizer ever since I discovered it about a decade ago. It is the only moisturizer I've found that absorbs well and doesn't leave my hands feeling greasy. I also like that I can wash my hands a couple times or clean a couple rounds of dishes in the sink before having to apply more. While I use pure jojoba oil on my face, I apply Everyday Shea to spots that start to flake during the day (particularly during the harsh New England winters). This never leads to noticeably clogged pores or breakouts. It also works well all over the rest of my body. This is THE staple moisturizer by my bathroom sink that I absolutely cannot do without. We all have different skincare needs, but Everyday Shea is definitely worth a try for anyone who hasn't used it before. I hope Alaffia never changes or discontinues this product because it's perfect for me -- and I also prefer to support companies that are doing good things in the world.
This lotion is incredible. The scent, or lack thereof is a huge selling point for me. I can wear whatever fragrance I want, or none at all, and there is no interference. The consistency is a bit watery and there is a need to reapply if you have dry skin. So I did dock a star but really it's a perfect summer lotion and I don't mind reapplying. It has truly improved my skin over the last few months of using it. The ingredients are clean and the mission of the company is outstanding so I'll always support this brand.
This product is a great value for your dollar. It smells good, and feels good on the skin. I just wish it didn't have citric acid in it.
After trying this product I'm highly convinced I paid for it's eye-catching packaging and misleading information. 60% Water and 40% Shea butter. I do NOT recommend.
Let me start by just saying that this used to be my go-to product for conditioner. However, they recently changed the ingredients and it's obviously not the same. The website isn't updated either so I assumed I was getting the product I had always gotten but was left disappointed. Yellow cap is the old ingredients and the black cap is the new. I provided a scan from the Yuka app.
I have been a huge fan of this lotion and recently purchased a new bottle. Unfortunately, it is not the same formula it's been in the past. It's so watery it's unusable. The ingredients listed on the website don't include water, but it's the first ingredient listed on the bottle.
