I am in love with my new cooktop. It cooks so evenly and quickly. We don't have natural gas in our area but this electric cooktop is just as great as a gas. It cleans up beautifully with just a warm dishcloth and drying it with a microfiber towel. So easy and sleek. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just had this cooktop installed an few months ago after we remodeled our kitchen. It looks beautiful and heats up quickly. We love it! My only complaint would be that we spent a lot of money for our new KitchenAid appliances and the cooktop didn't come with a cleaning kit…you have to purchase it separately.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I really like my cooktop, I was skeptical at first, it replaced an over 50 year old electric cooktop, but I like the way this one heats so evenly and the eye cools quickly. So far no problem with cleaning.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with the way the stove works. It is easy to clean and very efficient,
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to go gas, but my new home was not set up for it and induction would have forced me to replace more than half of my high end pots and pans! I got the the best electric cooktop I could find that had the Schott Ceran surface as I was really worried about scratching. I wish more manufacturers would make it known that they use this surface, seems no one promotes it! I also wanted real knobs, as I read many reviews complaining about food or water dripped on their touch control stoves causing issues. I have been using this for a month now. It has a very low setting similar to induction for melting butter and chocolate. It has a rapid boil high that, while not as fast as induction, will give a gas stove a run for its money. The controls take a little getting used to on the 2 larger burners as they operate differently from one another. Not a big deal to me after getting familiar with it. I read a lot of reviews that say this scratches easily and is hard to keep clean. Most of them must have never gotten the recommended Affresh cleaning kit, which is a must!(Kitchenaid should really include one with new units) Using this restores the top to a like new shine. Otherwise, just cleaning with soap and water and a soft cloth with work fine but will leave streaks on it's shiny surface. Very happy overall!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My original cooktop from 15 years ago had an element that quit working and couldn't be repaired. Features and styles changed over the years and I was disappointed in my search for a new one. I came across a KitchenAid and was thrilled with the style and improved features from my previous cooktop. It has 5 burners and the front two are dual element which makes using small pans or large pots convenient. I really like this cooktop.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cooktop looks nice overall. I had to enlarge the original 30" standard opening in the granite to make this cooktop fit. I had to cut 3/4" on the front edge and 7/8" on either side. The depth was also a little deeper, so I had to modify the cabinet drawer under the cooktop to drop it 3/8" to make it still usable. I did not use the rubber strips on the underside edge during final installation because it would have been impossible to determine the exact position of the strips so they wouldn't mash out beyond the edge of the stainless steel cooktop edge once it was seated. I did not want them to be recessed either as food crumbs would get trapped under there. Instead, I just used a thin bead of clear caulk underneath to seal the edge. My granite is very level, so I have no gaps. It looks very precise and nicely fitted. The cooktop seems to work well and throws off a lot of heat. That was my first observation when my wife was cooking her first meal. I said, "Whoa! That thing throws off a lot of heat." I really like the five burners, which is why we wanted a new cooktop. I have a couple of issues. One is with the circular markings on the glass top. They are quite difficult to see to keep the pan centered. It's like the etching in the glass is too dark and thin. I also don't like not having markings or increments around the control knobs. They are just 'L' to 'H' and a sweeping arc. No tick marks that I can get familiar with for certain temperatures. I will need to learn this unit based on relative position instead. Overall, it's nice and seems to perform well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cooktop works and looks good, glass top scratches easy. Only have had a short time and try to be very careful using only flat bottom pots and pans and soft rags for cleaning but surface has already began scratching. Also, not sure why it was so hard to find a 30", 5 Burner with good size large burners and a configuration that you can actually use all the burners. This was one of few I was able to find. Cooktop came packaged nice and easy to intall. Happy with the cooktop, just wish there was a way to prevent the scratching.
I owned this electric cooktop for not longer than a year and the glass is stained and scratched also the knobs are falling apart
Pros: - Quiet Cons: - Controlling the temperature is impossible and very frustrating. An example: I was cooking chili on the dual front burner - set a little bit above "low" and the chili was boiling. I turned it to "low", and five minutes later it was still boiling. Waited another five minutes - still boiling. It sometimes almost feels impossible to get the temperature low enough without turning the burner off. - The overall design is poor. 1) It is very difficult to see the outlines of the burners. 2) The red light indicating that the cooktop is hot, doesn't indicate which burner is actually still hot (which had been a feature on our previous Jenn-Air cooktop). 3) The single/dual burner control knobs work oppositely. To turn on the right front single burner, you turn the knob to the left. To turn on the left front single burner you turn knob to the right. (see photo to better understand - to design it this way just doesn't make sense) We've been using this appliance for over a year now and are still very unhappy with it.
