Replaced my 1999 Jumbo Kenmore Washer and Dryer with this stacked unit and am very pleased with the features of the stackable washer and dryer. The quietness of the unit for both washing and drying is great. The additional room in my laundry room is awesome so it is not so tight.
Nice unit ! I have owned some of the nicest sets of front loaders from Maytag to LG and all were not worth the premium cost. Even the cadillac speed queen the salesman didn't recommend their front loaders either. So yes, I'm done! For me this Unit make sense, A top load washer with a front load dryer. You can find this unit in many apartments today and are very serviceable. I been using this GE and it's relatively quiet and very functional, most of all my wife likes it! With different water levels. It may not look very impressive in today's standards, but if I should be in need of a service call, I will not be scared 😳
I purchased the diamond grey stackable gas unit the fitment was perfect the new design is a lot more appealing the washer is very large compared to my last unit small price to may for such a great product easy install
I love my new machine! The tub doesn't look that big, but I'm able to wash 6 small rugs in one load which is a huge time saver compared to my old machine. And the automatic setting for the amount of water needed is also a big savings. My clothes seem to be cleaner as well.
Definitely more compact than the Frigidaire combo unit that it replaced. Seems well made, simple components, but plenty of operating options. Easy to install. Dryer capacity is generous.
We've owned just two other brands of washers/dryers in our lifetime and both brands (Sears Kenmore - 14 years and Frigidaire - almost 20 years) have served us well. We were intrigued to see the GE combo unit. Our last washer/dryer was stackable and liked the design of this particular unit. We thought we'd give it a try as we would need a stackable unit for our laundry room anyway.
Washer is way too loud. Ports for hot and cold water are in terrible spots which causes strain on hoses. Washer also has too big of a gap which you may lose clothes in when loading or unloading. If this happens you'll have to take it apart to retrieve them.
Machine runs great. But, after about 20 loads a large metal bracket (5 inches by 10 inches) fell off and into the wash tub. I looked but could not see where it was originally attached. It hasn't affected the operation of the machine. I just hope it's not something important!
I bought this stackable unit in 2018 for my beach rental. It's washer large comforters and rugs. However, the dryer leaves black marks on all my sheets and now clothing. Seems like a common thing for this model. Now looking for a new unit, even though this unit is still fine, I can't have all black lines anything white.
First load has all the items in one big knot. I had all I could do to untangle the load and get it loose. Now my machine has bounced out of place and isn't balanced.
