I used samples from the dermatologist office. Wonderful sunscreen, very difficult to find in stores! Sunscreen goes on with a light feel to it. Best part it absorbs into skin! SPF 85! Need to put in more stores!
The promptness of delivery, your well designed and user friendly website, and quality of the product are the reasons that I will continue to order this product when needed.
I'm surprised of all the negative reviews. I don't usually write reviews but I felt that this product had not been given a fair shake overall. I'm a 40 year old man with really oil skin . Normal though during the winter months. I've tried a number of sunscreens out there for my face. This is the only sunscreen that I feel very comfortable wearing. It feels very light on my face and most importantly it is non greasy. It also does not leave a white residue left behind. To be more specific the one that I'm using is Ultra sheer dry-touch spf 85 with helioplex technology. A++++
So I decided to give this sample size a try. I'm used to using products like dermalogica, Elizabeth Arden, Clinique for men, and Clinique and I'm used to those products gliding on smooth. Putting this lotion on was like trying to rub on toothpaste. So I went to check the reviews and saw all the bad reactions people have had, some after multiple uses. I decided to throw my sample size in the trash after that. However, I think I am going to look into some of their more watery products for a smoother application.
While visiting friends in Florida, I decided to try their Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen on my face, because I only had SPF 8. After the first day, my skin felt dry and tight, then it started itching in spots, almost like I had poison ivy. I broke out in a horrible red rash on my cheeks, and on the left side of my chin. It became painful, swollen, tender to the touch. The skin on my cheeks became so swollen and irritated. I had lumps under both eyes. Then after 4 days, these rashes became tight and hardened, almost like a scab. Today, my face is peeling terribly, and I have anitbiotic cream on it, and I am taking ibuprofen. If this condiditon does not go away, I will have to take a visit to the dermatologist. I have NEVER had a reaction like this before. I would have been better off using my SPF 8, by another trusted manufacturer, as I usually did. I hope I am not permanently scarred.
I work outdoors and generally use a sunscreen on my face ears and neck to prevent sunburn. I recently tried a version of this product ( Age Shield SPF 70 w/Helioplex 360*) and experienced a red, painful, itchy rash on the places I used the sunscreen. It feels like a bad chemical burn. VERY disappointed as this is not a cheap product and I made the mistake of buying 3 tubes !! I have never experienced something like this with any Neutrogena product.
I used this sunscreen and I did not get sunburned! However, my face broke out into an insane red rash. My face is swollen and feels like leather. There are a few little pimples on my face and no lotion seems to help soothe the pain. The first time this happened a few months ago I figured it was just because I had extreme sun exposure working on the beach. But since this happened again the day that I used this product, my fear has been confirmed that this sunscreen is the reason for the breakout. I use Cetaphil face wash and CeraVe face lotion daily. I used the sunscreen on my shoulders too at the same time because my body sunscreen ran out but there is no rash there. So I'm starting to think it is some type of reaction with other products that I use. Either way, this has caused me to lose all faith in neutrogena produts. They are just too filled with chemicals. I'm moving to something less chemical based.
I liked it because it wasn't greasy - but it stained my clothes! The only thing that would take out most of the stain was bleach. I don't want to ruin my clothes, so I would not recommend this product. (I had Melanoma so I need to wear sun protection all of the time.)
Loved this product when I first purchased it, but after multiple times of use I started developing a bad rash! One day at the beach I applied this product and when I got home the parts of my body where I applied the sunscreen broke out in a chemical burn like rash. My face was red, itchy and blistered for a week..my arms all rashy. I have read other reviews and I am not the only one this has happened to... I usually adore Neutrogena products, but this one SUCKED! So upsetting. My other family members used it and had no problem, maybe I am just allergic to an ingredient in it. The only thing I can say good about this product is that it gave me a nice fresh layer of skin on my face after healing/ peeling. If you decide to purchase this product make sure to monitor!
After using this product (SPF 100 Ultra Sheer) only twice, applied once on each day, I have developed a severe rash on my face. It is also all around my neck and chest with raised red bumps, some the size of mosquito bites. Even worse are the red, angry patches of irritated skin all over my face that are painful to the touch. They continue to spread even though it has been almost 72 hours since I last applied it. My face is swollen and the scab-like patches have even spread to my eyelids. The first sign of trouble was a burning sensation in my eyes that would not go away for several hours. Then red scabby patches started to appear on my cheeks, which are now very swollen, then spread around my mouth, forehead and around my eyes and eyelids. My skin feels like it's pulled very tight, itchy and burning all at the same time. It's also painful. I've never had a reaction like this to anything before. I like Neutrogena products, but I definitely won't be using this one ever again. I'm on vacation at the moment and this has really ruined it. Additionally, it is going to cost me quite a bit to visit a dermatologist! Definitely make sure you test this product for allergic reactions before applying it to your face.
