When using the camera with the magnet, mirror or hook attached through small holes, do not use the accessory collar. Use some kind of adhesive tape instead. If you are not very careful retracting the camera, the collar can easily be stripped off, leaving both the attachment and the collar trapped, possibly inside a cylinder of your car. It may be easy to retrieve the accessory with a magnet, however, getting the collar back out could be very difficult, depending on the engine design very, very difficult.
Can see wat ringing in my engine great device
Purchased this online w/ store pick up and saved $20 over a store purchase. The hand held camera has several contrast settings and the camera whip has 5 or 6 light setting from dim to bright. I used mine at night and was able to trouble shoot a antifreeze clamp that was dripping and an oil leak. Was able to see both visually with eyes using light and also thru the camera screen. Gets a little tricky under a vehicle seeing the camera screen but after adjusting the camera whip and twisting the hand held camera was able to see the screen. I would recommend this a diagnostic tool - was a fair price as probably use that often but nice to have for other reasons - other than auto diagnostics.

Worked great in dark inspection area
I use it to inspect inside of walls for plumbing issues and where to run wiring for my home projects. Pros: I can locate heating ducts, wiring and pipes in my walls so I can add fixtures, heating vents and outlets - just what I wanted it for.! The fact that the screen is in color does help, but see my next comment. Cons: Colors are "weak" so its kind of hard to figure out what you are looking at. Also, as others have noted the camera focus is only about 3 inches, so you have to be right next to something to figure out what it is. I.E., you can't just put this in a wall and look up or down for something 3 or 4 feet away from the lens. Hint: sometime you need to figure out the orientation of an object and after bending the cable several times the bottom of the screen may not be the bottom of what you are looking at. Solution is before you put the lens into a small space, check to see what the bottom of the screen is seeing - look at a window or some square object, and if it doesn't match the bottom of the screen, straighten the cable until up and down are correct. Also, this cable is stiff! This helps when you need to push the cable into small spaces.
Very useful too around the house from inspecting hard to reach areas to supporting wiring projects. A higher definition camera/display would make it an even better value, but no complaints at its current price point for the features included. Access to a longer camera-tipped cable will be appreciated for pipe and duct inspections.
This is just a basic model that does not have outputs to connect to a computer or external display but for the price its awesome, it has a great display and 6 led brightness settings for the led in the end with the camera runs on 4 AA batteries and works great. for me this worked perfect for accessing the tight places on my engine of my truck where you cant see without pulling the motor.
This item was exactly what I needed for the job. It wasn't expensive and helped me accomplish the job that i was struggling with.
I got what I ordered with this purchase and am happy with it. This "camera" does not store pictures and allow downloading to a computer, etc. For $40 more, you might want to consider getting one with downloading capability.
