Beautiful looking appliance! Seems to be an updated model of our previous unit, which we loved for 10 years. So far only one wash under our belts but as clean a set of dishes as I've ever seen come out of an automatic dishwasher!
We have all GE appliances, so when our old dishwasher finally quit working, we naturally chose to replace it with a GE model. WE decided to upgrade and get a model with more features. I just installed it yesterday but so far, we love it, the fit, the looks, and the many wonderful features.
My previous dishwasher got zapped from a power surge and could not come back to life so after looking at many dishwashers, I settled on this GE. It had the features I wanted and a very good price. I installed my previous dishwasher, so I was able to do this as well connect the power connect the water and reconnect the drain line to the dishwasher and garbage disposal. A minor complaint that I have is the brass fitting that connects the waterline to the dishwasher is a little bit of an awkward connection to make and if you're not careful, you can cross thread, the brass fitting on the plastic water connection fitting. But overall installation was easy it fit in my opening without any problems and I ran a test cycle to make sure there were no leaks and I've used it many times with a full load of dishes, and I've had no problems with everything being clean. I recommend this dishwasher if you need to upgrade or replace an older or nonworking model
Received my new dishwasher replacement for an old GE with bottle washers. New one is upgraded on the bottle washers as the old version had red caps that would clog and were difficult to clear. This one also has the third rack which is extremely useful. Disappointed that it doesn't have the old adjustable tines on the lower rack or the stemware racks. So I transferred my old stemware racks to the new machine. Lower rack is not transferable due to the new design. Silverware jets under the rack is awesome. Foldable tines are not a deal breaker but were used occasionally on the old machine. The door is greatly improved with controls sealed and more durable. The old machine buttons would hang up/stick down. Door feels kinda cheap and or weak but is lighter and I'm sure is more durable and effective. Installing was identical to the old one but no door spring adjustment. Wish the feet were thicker to accommodate a wrench better. Overall very happy with the new design wish they offered more add on options like the stemware racks for people who are purchasing for the first time. I saved usable parts from the old machine and with the transferred stemware racks it's an awesome 😎 machine.
The dishwasher works well. I'm giving a 4-star rating for a few reasons: the wheels on the bottom rack don't roll well, the dry boost has to be on high to dry the dishes, and hard tab detergents don't completely dissolve.
Dish washer does everything I need to do. It even cleans the dishes. Who'd of thought that? 1 problem though the middle rack can not hold large cups without removing the 3rd rack. Just more of an inconvenience. A little more room and the dishwasher would be perfect.
I needed a new dishwasher. I bought a model GDT670SGVOWW, Simply because of the price and my wife liked. I installed it.This was probably my 8th dishwasher. I have rentals so over time I have installed a few things. The one thing I had to do with this unit was attach the "Trim pieces" onto the side and top, these pieces take up the space between the cabinet and washer as well as add to noise reduction. Step nine in the owners guide. Poor description and diagrams. Other than that pretty straight forward instalation. So I turned it on and I am running it for first time, no leaks, it's quiet. I will let you know how it holds up over the years.
I purchased this product 3 years ago along with washer/dryer, refrigerator, and range. Up until last night, I would have rated this dishwasher 4-5 stars. However, after only 3 years of regular use, my kitchen floor flooded due to a dislocated drain pump seal. The poor design of this mechanism led to this failure. I'm now cleaning up water on my floor and under my cabinets. No product of this caliber should only last 3 years!! This is the second GE product (the other was a washing machine) that I've had significant issues with in the last 6 months. When I built my home 3 years ago, I put in all GE appliances. I'm now very nervous about my remaining products because of these substandard appliances. We're currently building another home and WILL NOT be putting in GE appliances!! We're replacing this dishwasher and WILL NOT be replacing it with a GE product. I WILL NOT recommend to my family and friends any GE appliances.
Overall the dishwasher has worked fine, but there are some caveats to that. - If you don't use the full length normal cycle (or longer) with the wash temp boost on and both top and bottom cleaning, the (recommended Cascade) soap gets stuck in the soap dispenser and doesn't dissolve. - While the machine is relatively quiet, it's not nearly as quiet as I thought it would be. This isn't a big deal, but you definitely hear the machine doing it's thing. Again, not a big deal on that one. - I think the setup with the three racks works pretty well and when I use the setting described above, it cleans well. - It doesn't fit entirely under our countertop. I expected the buttons to be concealed under the countertop so the door would be flush with the cabinetry. It sticks out a little bit. On the plus side, since it sticks out a little, you can actually access the buttons if you need to. I realize that this might be an installation issue, but our plumber told us that the way it was designed, you just couldn't get it all the way back. - The plastic trim around the top of the door has started to peel away from the door. I don't think this will impact the functionality of the dishwasher, but this is probably the most disappointing for me because it will just look junky. I may try and glue it on.
Very small interior with no stabilizer for wine glasses. The smaller top rack has a loose rack inside it that makes no sense. The holes are big on this rack Top rack does not hold small dishes securely. Rinse everything first because it cleans poorly. Be careful when pulling out the lower basket, as the wheels go off the track every time. Very poor design and inefficient machine. Unfortunately, it came as part of the new construction. I would never choose this model!
