This is my all time favorite bone broth. I like to add turmeric, oregano, black pepper, and sea salt for a hearty broth.
This plus Vital Proteins Hydrolysed Collagen Peptides has created some hair fuzz since my baldness from chemo. Yay! I use Stevia leaf extract due to the ick factor when added to coffee.
It's an acquired taste and but once you like it you LOVE IT!!! I looked at the one start reviews out of curiosity and was surprised by people complaining about the strong taste. Um... it's broth... made from bone juices... What were you expecting - sweet nectar??? Anyway, if you're someone who likes savory foods < sweet foods you'll probably like the taste. I drink it like tea and if I could get away with it, it would be the only thing I eat. It makes me feel clean and energized. I wish it was cheaper that's all... Bare Bones has cheaper bone broth but it has much more sodium and extra ingredients.
Do you open a box of bone broth and forget it in the fridge? Never again! I love that I can make just what I need and it's always fresh. Also love a little spoonful in hot water at night in place of a snack or tea. It's soothing and comforting! A must have for Whole30 or really anyone!
I love the concept of this product. So many benefits in 1 scoop and I enjoy the taste. I mix it in my rice while in the rice cooker, hot water to make a cup of broth to drink, or even my pasta while almost done cooking. The only issue is it does not mix well and there are many clumps left behind. It only completely mixes in the rice cooker. This won't stop me from buying the product again, BUT it would be nice to know that I am not wasting any.
The smell wass absolutely horrid. So horrid that I had to check the expiration date to make sure it wasn't rancid. The expiration was all good, so I gave it a stir. I had to stir and stir and stir for it to dissolve. Once the clumps were gone, the smell was 93% better. It's almost tasteless, but you can still smell it. It's very odd. The reviews are spectacular all around from vital proteins to just the normal things that bone broth can do for you, so I'm looking forward to the benefits. I'm most looking for help with my GI tract and memory.
The chicken is much better than the beef. I can drink this in hot water without difficulty. And I must admit I feel much better.
This product is good but the container states there are 28 servings and there really are only 21. I've measured it out for more than one container. Definitely 21 servings. That's a significant difference.
I bought this because I LOVE the plain collagen peptides. Thought this would be good. I used a delicious bone broth from a competitor, but wanted to try this. There is a strange bitter taste. I looked at the ingredients and all that was listed is bone broth. Not going to purchase again, but I will continue with the plain powder.
I'm not loving the new powder form of the bone broth. I enjoyed drinking the crystal like bone broth but can not seem to get the powder version down. It does not taste the same ! I guess if you only plan on using it in recipes you couldn't tell the difference, but for me, I enjoy drinking in place of coffee and I certainly notice the difference in the flavor.
