(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this glass bowl in replacement of my stainless bowl that I had for 7 years now. I was hesitant but it was a great choice I bought it. right away fit my 5 qt artisan stand mixer. These are what I made of my glass bowl and easily to clean.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this glass kitchen aid mixer bowl so much! I have had a kitchenaid mixer for years, but i've had the stainless steel bowl. I love that I can see through this one to make sure that I have gotten everything off of the bottom. It has measurements on the side. I also love that it has a top that I can put on it if I just want to chill my product for a little while or just put it to the side while I work on something else. This bowl makes me so happy!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my new go to KitchenAid bowl! This bowl is huge and so well made. The one thing I love about it most is that I can put it in the dishwasher when done! It did come with a lid that sits on the top of the bowl. While it does not seal, it does the job of keeping it covered. I am really happy with this purchase. I will say, the glass bowl is heavy, so be prepared!
I have had mine for almost 9 years now and couldn't be happier with it. It is much prettier than the metal one and since I keep my mixer on my counter top, that matters to me. It has held up beautifully over nearly a decade of near constant use, so I'm very happy!
I loved this bowl. It's beautiful and you can see how well mixed your ingredients are inside. However, it cracked! I washed it and while rinsing it, I noticed this crack! I have always been super careful while using and cleaning it. Today was no different! Nothing out of the ordinary happened, it just cracked! So disappointed!
I have had two of these and both have broken. The first was my fault but the second started have problems locking into place. I had to struggle to get it locked. Well it wasn't and then it broke. The second one didn't have the disc on the bottom that you used to lock and for some reason it always caused issues. My stainless bowl locked no problem. Please try and fix this issue.
I have had the KitchenAid mixer with a glass bowl for several years. While replacing the bowl last week I BARELY (cannot stress that word enough) tapped the side of the bowl on the attachment rod and a giant chunk of glass just broke off. I have since read that others have even been injured and these bowls shattering mid-mix! Be CAREFUL and I advise going with a metal bowl instead. The mixer itself works perfectly well, that I will say. But I would not advise getting one with a glass bowl. So disappointed but glad I was not injured. KitchenAid has, so far, just told me to purchase a new bowl as my mixer is outside the 1 year warranty.
I used this for a couple years with no issue. However while making swiss meringue the entire bottom cracked severely even though the water wasn't touching the bowl. I won't be purchasing this again, I think I will go for ceramic for durability.
Broke while making pizza dough. Not on high speed, not a tough dough at all. Glass all over the place, time and money wasted. Pathetic product from an otherwise reputable company. If these don't last like older pyrex ones, they shouldn't bother making them.
Breaks easily, fragile even under normal usage. Maybe it is not even tempered glass because even moderate temperature change made it pop and crack all over. Bakers you know that in order to make Swiss buttercream you need a few drops of boiling water. Couldn't believe it made the bowl crack and I just bought this 2nd glass bowl a few months ago. What use is it if it can't stand up to a couple drops of boiling water?
