Large canopy, covenient features, and quality materials make this everything one might expect in a patio umbrella. The tilt and rotate features are particularly nice. There is some assembly required but the directions are adequate and the assembly is not complicated.
The umbrella is as big as a circus tent, and it's fantastic. It covers the majority of my patio. Living in the desert Southwest, this'll come in very handy. I'm a 60 yr. old woman, who lives by herself and I assembled it on my own. I hit a roadblock when it came to putting the umbrella into its base and a neighbor had to help me. (Let me tell you...this is a heavy piece.) Glad I bought it. :o)
I needed evening shade for a long patio table seating 6, even though the table already had an overhead umbrella. This Naples Side Post Umbrella can sit off to the side and still give lots of shelter from the setting sun. Its ability to tilt is perfect for our shade needs. None of the stores in our mountain town, however, stock 18 in x 18 in patio stones. Currently we have ugly concrete blocks holding our umbrella in place. Online I can't even find these required patio stones at Home Depot or Lowes. When I make my 90 min drive to the "big" city (Idaho Falls), I hope I can find 18 in square patio blocks....I've already spent too much time trying to find them.
I was looking for a big, yet quality umbrella and this is it. Easy to use. The whole umbrella tilts at many angles. There is a foot petal that lets you easily rotate the whole umbrella as the sun moves. It was expensive, but in the long run you could end up spending more on a new umbrella every year. This big bad boy will be keeping me cool for a very long time!
After you put the 18 x 18 concrete blocks around the base of the umbrella it is very sturdy. It provides a lot of shade and you can turn it in a lot of different directions. Highly recommended to purchase. During Winter months we will store out of the weather.
The assembly looked intimidating but overall was not complicated. Umbrella top moves with the wind (looks unstable) but I think it's supposed to be like that. You would need to get patio stones to secure the base, which could be purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot (about $5 a piece). The color is very neutral. Overall a great value and great purchase.
Good quality umbrella, was sent a different color than the umbrella I ordered. If you want a specific color, exercise care in ordering or be prepared to return for an exchange.
Had this umbrella last season and loved it. However, we didn't put it down every time we used it as it was a hassle since it was over our dining table and putting it down required moving the heavy chairs all around to close it up. Not to mention the wasps would make a nest if you left it unopened for a few days. No problems occurred until the very end of the summer when the umbrella frame gave way and broke. Glad I bought it at SAMS club and that the let me return it. Considering purchasing again but not sure I want to hassle with it every day to be sure it doesn't get broken again vs paying more for a higher quality umbrella and not having to worry about it. We'll see.
This umbrella covers a large portion of our deck. Also, it tilts to block the sun as it is going down. I had to replace last year's umbrella because of high winds bent the pole beyond repair. However, for the same price last year it included a lighting system. Purchased a new one this year and was disappointed this on has no lights and no tie strings to close it tightly. We get lots of compliments and utilize our deck more than we normally would because of the umbrella.
My issues are personal and have nothing to do with the overall product. It's is too big for my space. It is too heavy and cumbersome. It requires two men to assemble and two men to move about. I feel it is better served as a commercial umbrella. I can't move it alone. Therefore, I wish I'd bought a smaller version.
