This is the best digital scale & despencer i have ever owned i have owned the Lyman DPS &The RCBS Charge Master &The Smartreloader is better & faster than both of the others .I have loaded with my ISD for going on 3 years now & have charged 1,000's of rounds with my ISD .I seen where another poster said that it was too slow i have i load for my 300 Remington Ultra Magnum which used 100+ grains &my ISD will despence the charge in just under 35 seconds I don't know why anyone would think that the IDS is slow my unit sure isn't by no means I have nothing but good things to report about my ISD & when this unit does quit i am going to get another one .The Smart Reloader ISD is a excellent & ACCURATE & FAST ,Dependable reloading scale & despencer combo I have ever used in my33 years of reloading. It's a pleasure to operate & fun too.
I was torn between this, and the better know brands like RCBS and Hornady; but after reading similar reviews for all off them, I went for value. SmartReloader has videos on YouTube for setting it up and tweaking the speed, watch these, they are very informative. After setting it up, and throwing a few perfect 46gr. loads of TAC, I messed around with the trickle speed. I threw 50 loads with zero, yes, ZERO over charges, all in the 30 to 40 second range. I went ahead and ordered some SmartReloader ammo boxes too, just because I was impressed with the iSD. Boxes are great too. FYI... On several reviews on the internet they mention that SmartReloader in an Italian company, and the product is made in Italy. This is inaccurate. They are an Italian company, but the box clearly states "Designed in Italy" not made. It is made in China, if that matters to you.
The unit has two speed adjustments. One to adj. when the unit will slow from rapid pan fill to a trickle and another for a final, very slow approach to the final weight. If this unit was not faulty , it is way to slow. I could not make it drop a charge in less than 2.5 minutes. The big question, ??? was the unit faulty or not. I returned it for a full refund. I wil return to my old standby powder scale. Mageyver
