It wasn't quite as sturdy as I thought it might be and the marbles are pretty light weight. (Maybe that's good in case a young child would throw them.) I was comparing it to the Hungry, Hungry Hippo game another of our grandchildren have. I'm not sure if Hungry, Hungry Herd cost the same as the Hungry, Hungry Hippo game, though. (Walmart does not sell the Hungry, Hungry Hippo game.) The heads on the Hungry, Hungry Herd game stick quite often when you press on the lever which makes the young child irritated. :-)

My grandson went crazy over the game, but beware, the marbles get stuck under the heads and they are hard to get out. The cup on the bottom does not hold all the marbles, as they send an extra 1 of each color, which also will not fit on the slots next to each animal. Also the mechanism that pushes the head forward gets stuck alot. Some are worse than others... Other than that we play the game alot!

Very cute. My four year old loves it. Only downside is the heads constantly get stuck and you have to bang on it to get them unstuck. I don't remember the Hungry Hungry Hippos from my childhood doing this.

This is a great action game for little ones. It holds their attention, gets lots of giggles and the hippos hold up to lots of little hands. However, in my opinion, this is not a game for 4 months and up as stated in the Specifications. It contains marbles and definitely requires some dexterity. In my opinion 3+ is more reasonable. Although I believe the manufacturer suggests 4+.

Hard to put together and hard to take apart when finished playing. Must be taken apart to go back into the box. The heads of the animals did not work correctly from day one, the product is not defective it does not work well. It would be a fun game if more efficient. Children love the idea of getting the marbles into the animals mouths but it is troublesome to get the mouths and heads up and down.

My wife and I were really excited to purchase this game for our three and four year old for Christmas We spotted it online for less than $20 which seemed like a good price. The assembly was easy and in minutes we were all ready to play at the table. First the lever that you use to lift the animal's head up and down jammed in place. Then the head became stuck in the down position making it impossible to retrieve the food balls. We were still able to get a good game or two before we gave in to the frustration. I definitely feel it was a wasted buy. Hopefully it was just ours that was defective. This is a very fun game for kids.

My sons were excited to get this game. The handle get stucks often and the animals heads come up back after they eat the marbles, so the marbles dont get pulled into the dock. In order to put the game away in the box, you need to remove the animals everytime, so you are always putting it together and taking it apart.

This toy is cheaply made we purchased it for Christmas and the kids couldn't even play it. The heads of the animals would get stuck as they are reaching for the marbels. We are returning it
