I bought it for myself, but since it looks sooooo nice, I am going to give it to my mom as a gift!! I think she will be very happy. I always like Vera Bradley bags, especially backpacks and crossbody bags. This one says it's a shoulder bag, yet it can be a crossbody too :) Lots of pockets just like other Vera Bradley. Price was just amazing!!
I'd checked this bag out online but decided to stop in a store myself just to be sure. I'm glad I did! The photo seems to make it look bigger and bulkier when in reality it was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a crossbody purse that was big enough for all my essentials but not so big it looked like I was carrying a diaper bag. The pockets are perfect and I love the flap on the front, perfect place for my phone. Inside there is plenty of room for my wallet, keys, huge sunglasses case, lots of other items I like to carry. Even room to throw a bottle of water in if I need to bring one along when I'm walking the dog. The thick strap can be over the shoulder and the long strap is perfect length for crossbody and sits at my hip (I'm 5'8 so not all cross bodies do this!) when full it still looks cute cross body, and while I do like Vera's fun prints and designs the black on this bag is just perfectly classy. I'm in love with this new everyday purse!
I love this bag. It is light weight and gives you all the pockets for organization with out being too big. There are 2 big pockets under the flap plus a large slip pocket on the back. The inside would take a lot to fill up. Plus there is 2 strapped to chose from, short or long. My new favorite!
I love your purses. I have one other of your purses which is a floral black print, the only problem with that one is it is 11 inches long and things get lost in the bottom of the purse and I have a hard time finding things on the bottom. This purse I love because it's only 8 1/2 inches deep and things do not get lost in the bottom.
This is a great bag for most of the time - except on a "dress up day" For someone who has had 3 spinal surgeries, my doctor would be very happy I have followed his advice and am NOT carrying a very heavy bag on my shoulder. This is not only practical but VERY stylish!!
We all have our favorite Vera bags. I started out loving Mandy, then gravitated to the Double Zip mailbag. But last September, I discovered Carson. Now I own Carson in cactus green, lilac medallion, and (most recently) navy microfiber. Feeling secure in my online purchase, I had it monogrammed in off-white (the recommended color selection for navy). The monogramming turned out perfect! This bag has huge capacity while looking slim and trim. When you put it down, it does not sag and puddle; it holds its shape. I only use the cross-body strap. So I was glad that the other strap was easily removable. Other brands often sew in additional straps that become obstacles to entering the bag. They need to be cut off. Thank you Vera for NOT doing this. Optional straps need to be truly optional! The two pockets in the front are really handy. Each holds a Vera 3 and a half by 5 inch zipper case where I keep credit cards, coupons, etc. The inside of the bag holds a wallet, glasses, make-up, keys, pens, and other necessities very comfortably.
I would give it five stars but the zipper pull slips out from the zipper. I am afraid to use pliers to try to squeeze it tighter, it appears to be a cast metal. Also I am afraid to ruin the mechanism. Returning the purse would be expensive so I just keep slipping it back in place when the pull slips out. Love the purse compartments, all in the perfect place and the purse is very light weight.
I bought that handbag because of the all of the slip pockets, zipped compartments and pockets. I am having difficulty with the large outside flap that conceals 2 deep pockets. The flap is held shut with the a magnetic snap. That magnet is so strong, I have to use 2 hands to just open that flap! I worry that the fabric around that snap will Tear!!
After about two weeks of use, the pleather tabs the straps attaches to are already falling apart. I do not over load the purse and use it daily so it hasn't been over used in my opinion. I am very disappointed for the cost of this purse I would expect it would not fall apart after 2 weeks.
I purchased this purse in May of 2018 and fell in love with it. I thought I had finally found the perfect purse. After a few months of light use the "tabs" that hold the straps started to come unstitched and fall apart. I have used VB products for quite some time and almost always love everything about them. This is the first product that has disappointed me. In fact, I feel like I can't even use it anymore because I am unsure how much longer the tabs will hold up. I thought I was paying for another high quality VB product, unfortunately it seems I was mistaken.
