I received this product, mid-March, free in exchange for an honest review. Due to the COVID 19 outbreak using this egg cooker was not a priority. However, once I used it I was very glad I did. It did take two tries to adjust the water for the Costco eggs (extra large) that I used. Why, you ask? For a few reasons listed here. First, to me, the design and color combination are very eclectic and remind of the appliances my parents used when I was a child. Second, this product is very easy to use and follow the clear and concise provided instructions. The omelette was not only fluffy but tasty, see picture. Due to my special eating requirements, I didn't add any salt. Third, cleaning and maintenance of this product is smooth and worry free. Finally, all the pieces fit inside the dome. With no parts left outside there's nothing that may get lost. Thank you Hamilton Beach for the design, ease of use and efficiency of this product. Keep up the great work! My family loves soft boiled eggs and toast sticks, and even cooking on the stove I am terrible at getting perfect results. I have tried several egg cookers and have been irritated in the past with inconsistent results even when following the instructions. With this little gadget, I have consistently made soft- and hard-boiled eggs to perfection. Three soft-boiled eggs take about 8 min 50 sec to cook, and you have to pull them out immediately and put in an ice bath or they will continue cooking. My previous cookers could only cook one poached egg at a time or were very bulky add-ons to a toaster. I love that you can cook two poached eggs at once in this, and - even better - the same consistent results without the mess and boil-over. Also, I love the cheerful mint green greeting me every morning. I plan to purchase a second one for the office and one for my brother. I hope they will eventually make a larger size that could do more eggs, as my family of 5 routinely eats 10 eggs! This is perfect for households of 4 or less. It's small, but convenient for one person. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
I was a little skeptical of this cooked since it doesn't have a timer, just an on/off button. But, following the instructions, you measure the amount of water, with the provided cup, based on how many eggs you are cooking and to what level of doneness (hard, medium, soft). Pour the water in, put the eggs in the egg holder, cover and hit the on button. Easy peasy. Once the cooker beeps that it is done (when the water is gone), turn it off, lift eggs out and place in cold water. Done and done! My cooker had some discoloration on the hot plate when it was done, buy the cleaning instructions had a tip about pour vinegar over is and letting it sit for several minutes before wiping clean and it was perfectly clean again! A great cooker providing an easy alternative to a big pot of boiling water! I also love that I can make little omelettes and poached eggs in it too! The Hamilton Beach 3 in 1 egg cooker is so easy to use. You can make hard, medium or soft cooked eggs, an omelet or my favorite poached eggs. It takes just a few minutes to get it set up and then press the power button and walk away until it beeps to tell you that it's done. Yes, it's that easy. It's compact, so it doesn't take up much counter space and it includes the measuring cup that shows you exactly how much water to add for each type of egg you want to cook. If you like eggs, you will be using this every day. Clean up is easy and fast, no pots or pans required. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I absolutely love this product. Its fast and simple to use. Clean up is quick and easy. It makes great omelets and is the perfect size for a egg mcmuffin. Hard boiled eggs come out excellent, great for making egg salad quickly. I definitely recommend the 3 in 1 egg cooker by Hamilton Beach!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Egg Cooker is an attractive, compact appliance that I think would especially be a welcome addition to a dorm room, RV, or other small space. I've used all three functions of the cooker with satisfactory results. The omelet was my least favorite since it's basically a steamed omelet (however, that does help to keep it a low fat dish if that's a consideration). My household will probably use it most often for hard-cooked eggs, although I was also pleased with the poached egg function. I was especially happy that there was no dreaded green ring with the hard-cooked eggs! I do wonder about the long-term durability of all the plastic parts, but time will tell with that. I'm a person who loves eggs but hates to cook them. I can never get the perfect over easy egg for my toast and my hardboiled eggs are always green and tough. The design of this egg cooker is super simple but it delivers every time. A soft poached egg on toast is my new go-to breakfast and it takes no effort! I wouldn't call it an essential for your cabinets but it makes a great, convenient addition to your household appliances. It only cooks 7 hardboiled eggs at a time so it's not the most efficient if you like to do a dozen+ at a time. I didn't mind doing a few batches because of how soft and delicious the yolks were! The only think I would add is a big, bold message to the directions reminding that you're cooking in plastic containers on a very hot metal. When the water evaporates, the cooking is done and the machine beeps. You have to take it out quickly or the metal will start to melt the base of the plastic! Otherwise, this is a great solid egg cooker. And, huge bonus points That everything fits back into the egg cooker for great compact storage. It was worth it for the great taste and time it saves me. I ordered this item for shipping. It arrived on time and all the pieces were in the box, but..... it was clearly used and returned. The top cover was unwrapped and scratched up. I decided to keep it anyway. Washed the entire unit real good and tried it out. It worked to hard boil eggs and I tried the 1 egg omelet. I needed to add more water for the omlet, but that's not to big of a deal. Overall I'm happy with it aside from it being used when I purchased a "new" product.
It's okay. Main issue is the signal when it's done is pretty quiet and only signals once so it's very easy to miss and overcook the eggs.
