we love the style of the unit and we love the color. its nice to the temperature control. My only downfall with this unit is that it's not a 12 cup coffee maker.other than that this unit is perfect. I really enjoy the way my coffee tastes and hope it stays like this. I would definitely recommend this coffee maker to anyone interested in style and taste.
I was skeptical of purchasing a drip coffee maker because I have been using pods for years. I researched them for about a month until I ultimately decided on the Cafe coffee maker. It has far exceeded my expectations in every way possible and I am so glad I made the right choice !!
Works great and no issues with the performance of the device. The reason for 3 stars is the cheap paint on the handle already rubbed off from my wedding ring grabbing it to pour my coffee. For this price its disappointing that the paint lasted such a short time.
I love this coffee maker! It makes great coffee! However the carafe sounds like it has water or something stuck in the bottom. It's very odd to me that that would happen but every time I pick it up to use it again for coffee it sounds like there's liquid already in there. I would love to just try the glass carafe instead. I've only had the coffee maker about a year now.
Great Coffee, Easy to Use, Perfect Cup each time. However, I have had less than a year and already the cooper is pealing off the handle (I have only hand washed the pot) and the cooper ring where the coffee grounds are held is peeling too! Not worth it for the amount I spent!
UPDATE to my earlier review. We successfully removed the bottom of the pot. required drilling through one anti-tamper screw. Snipped the wire to the malfunctioning sensor, by passed it by connecting the wires and it works. I know this is not ideal but at least I have an operating coffee pot. I have two of these pots so its quite an investment. CAFE if you care to improve your ratings get a better sensor or eliminate the feature. Many pots do not have it.
While I love this coffee maker, I'm completely disappointed with the material used for the handle. I specifically brought this coffee machine because it matched all of my appliances. I was sold on the bronze finish. My son brought this machine as a gift for Christmas and I cannot believe it's only been 4 weeks and the handle is peeling. Very disappointed! I expected more from GE.
1 star for functionality, 5 stars for the aesthetic. I have used this coffee maker for several months now, almost daily. The huge design flaw is the size of the coffee basket. You will see other reviews and might think it's user error, but it's not. When using the recommended amount of coffee, even when ground very coarse, at 7+ cups the basket of grounds will begin to overflow and make a mess. If you attempt to make 10 cups of coffee you will absolutely have a mess on your hands. Sure, it's not a huge deal, but it ultimately ruins the experience. If you have guests over and want to make a 10 cup pot, just know that there will be grounds in the pot and possible bubbling over the top of the basket.
The handle material started peeling within 6 months. This is not a cheap coffeemaker and I expected better quality. There are many reviews reporting the same problem. The material peeling away is also sharp and we have to be cautious when using the carafe.
We have this coffee maker for less than two years an while drinking my coffee I noticed flakes of the gold coating in my coffee. After inspecting the coffee maker I niticed the gold coating was coming off the brewing section, the base where the coffee filters through!
