I bought this to replace another command hook that was metallic and fell down due to weight issues. I use this hook to hang my purse every day. Not only does it blend in to the wall color, it can hold the weight of my purse which can vary day to day. It's well worth the money!
I am thrilled with theses hooks. I used them in my newly installed closet system to provide additional hanging space for my frequently used handbags. It makes me feel great that the hooks won't ruin the closet system walls, and they look great. They are study and I love that they are wide and provide generous space for my handbag handles to rest upon. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I received this Jumbo Utility Hook as a free sample and wanted to use it to hold a larger gardening tool. I have a vinyl-like shed without shelves. I wanted to see if this could adhere to the side wall and hold the hedge clippers. It definitely has done that and is still sticking even after a week of continuous very hot temperatures. I will say that it's on the side of the shed that doesn't receive direct sunlight which might make a difference, because the small 3M wire hook I used on the side that does face the sun didn't hold and fell off when just holding a rag. I use these 17004 (rated for 7.5 lbs) hooks a lot. I use them hidden in closets to hang bags, ironing boards, cords. If they're visible, I paint them so they don't look so utilitarian. I have several of these hooks painted classic bronze to match the ORB hardware in my bathroom. I have a couple that are painted chrome to match the 7"-blade chrome fan that's hanging on them. The classic bronze-painted hooks are on my bathroom travertine walls. They serve as towel hooks. The adhesive hasn't failed yet (going on 6 years now). What usually fails is the plastic itself - i.e., the "hook" part breaks off after a few years. That's probably from people tugging down their towels. The hooks can hold 7.5 lbs but not when people keep tugging down on their towels. I have one hook (actually, the wall back part only, not the outside hook part) holding up a 21" x 21" wall frame that's ~5 lbs. The frame has a horizontal length of braided wire at the back that you're supposed to hang on a nail/hook. I didn't want to drill a hole in my travertine tiles so I just used the wall/back part of this 17004 hook to hang the frame. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The width of the "Jumbo" hook allows me to inconspicuously hang my house cane on the wall beside my dining table. It blends in well with the paint color on the walls, and of course I can cleanly remove it at a future time with no holes left in the wall. I already use various size Command hooks, and could not be more pleased with the ease of use and removal, allowing reuse.
Bought this so my husband ( hopefully) would use it for his wet towels... Instead of dumping them on the floor. I mounted it on the back of our bathroom job which is next to our shower, and it works perfectly. Strong enough to hold a large ( quite wet) towel... Will likely order more.
I received this product free from 3M. We just finished cleaning our garage and rearranging some of our tools and extra large things. One of the items I wanted to hang was a small step stool. It was always in our way. This new product worked like magic. It holds a larger item so I don't have to worry it will fall and hit the car. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought this hook to hang curtains in our apartment. We used 3 per window (window is very wide). Very strong and easy to install. Love it!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have been a fan of command hangers since they came out! I've used them all the time and they work perfectly and last for a lifetime! It wasn't until I moved that for some reason they aren't working. I used the same hangers I had in my previous house, just new strips, put on the same bags/items that they were meant to hang from the previous house AND bought 2 more jumbo ones and used them as well but for some reason they aren't sticking. At first I thought it was because I didn't let the adhesive set in before I put on my bags/items. So I tried it again and let the adhesive set in for a day or two. It lasted up on the wall with my items longer for at least a few more days but it still fell down. I know they work because I still have 3 hanging on my wall but I don't know why the other 2 aren't. It kinda makes me question will these last 3 stay up that long? It's really disappointing and frustrating because I LOVE using this product but it won't stick for some odd reason...
While the Hook worked, I would have gladly accepted a nail, screw or tack hole vs using the damage-free mounting strip which took the plaster off my wall. The mounting strip broke, while attempting to pull it straight down to remove it, and my only option was to gently pry it off the wall.
