I installed this kit on my Ford Econoline Van that I am building. Virtually everything needed for installation was included in the kit. That was one of the reasons I chose this package. I elected to mount the panels on my Yakima rack system. I used the supplied mounting feet and bolted them to square aluminum tubing between the rack cross bars for a solid attachment. The controller fit nicely in the electrical box and the wiring was plug and play. I was concerned that the panels would not keep up with my minimal loads of a mini fridge and vent fan. But after a few weeks of continuous operation, the panels have kept the battery full even on overcast days. I wasn't sure if I needed the Bluetooth module, but after setting it up, the info loaded app is very useful.
Love my new solar system for my camper. In our first trip it rained almost the whole time and I still had an almost full battery the entire trip. In the past, I would have gone through two batteries and would have had to charge one to have power by day four. Easy to install and a way better price than the competition.
Fast delivery. I replaced my 1995 43 watt unit with this unit. Installation was quite simple. There is plenty of cable supplied. I've used it on two trips now and am totally satisfied. Getting plenty of power for all my needs, which mainly was to keep my batteries charged. It does a great job and gives me added security of having plenty of power. I do have a gas generator for backup, but this has been keeping up with my charging needs. Highly recommend.
Perfect solution to keep my 2022 Salem Cruise Lite 171RBXL battery charged. Easy installation even for a first timer like me. Excellent online information to assist. Inatslled and working with no issues at all. The controller is really to operate. I Highly recommend Renogy
Super easy to install, keeps my house batteries charged even when it's cloudy.
The kit was easy to assemble and it works well to power a refrigerator, water pump and LTE MODEM. This was for a small van conversion (Transit Connect) for me and my wife and two dogs. We aren't serious campers, so just needed to keep some travel food and water and have internet for entertainment. The 100Ah battery is plenty to power the 45 quart refrigerator, and the two 100W panels are plenty to keep the battery charged. The online videos explained everything well, and the prices are competitive.
This is our 3rd solar setup on various campers we've owned. First Renogy kit I've used. Build quality is good, install to easy, kit comes with pretty much everything you need. BlueTooth is kinda cool. Our kit is pulling 8-10 amps consistently, which I am pleased with, considering we live in the dark grey pacific north west winter.
The kit works great. Install was pretty easy. One of my panels showed up shattered, but they sent me a new one pretty quickly. Happy I went with renogy. The bluetooth module is nice. It always shows my battery status, but doesn't always bring up the numbers from the panels. I have to disconnect and reconnect nearly every time for it to show me all the info. That's my only knock on the kit.
High quality finishes on all components, simple and intuitive assembly/mounting. And I love the look on our school bus conversion. Two quibbles, however. Minor one: kit is sold as "for RVs" but the panel cables aren't long enough to connect panel-to-panel end to end, cable length only allows for side-to-side mounting--fine for home applications but RV mounting needs to be flexible and dynamic, this means I'm forced to either by more connectors and make my own pigtails, or change the entire configuration of the roof...all for 12" of more cable in the pre-wire. Too bad. Major quibble: the through-roof cable cover is kind of a joke, no mechanical fasteners (relies on epoxy and magic to stay put and water tight--and even then it was a massive chore to scuff up the shiny plasit nooks and crevices enough to ensure a decent bond with the epoxy) and zero chance of adding your own mechanical fasteners as the flange is almost non-existent; needs a complete redesign, or at the least more options.
Have owned these for a few months and am still trying to figure out how to hook them up correctly. The charge controller has identified that we have reverse polarity but everything we try to correct this does not work. A simple fix would be for the manufacturer to color code their wires and not send all black cables and expect you to not get them mixed up as you climb up and down off the roof of your RV and climb under it to hook up to your battery. The instructions are almost non existent and the diagrams contradict themselves in the manual. Having one wire labeled negative on one page and positive on the next.
