Really nice set but there were 2 problems: although the table has a hole for an umbrella, the feet are not wide enough to allow for an umbrella base and there were no assembly instructions in the box
I'm very conflicted about this purchase. It's my first item from Hayneedle that really had problems with both the product and delivery. I thought about returning it but didn't want to deal with the hassle. If I were to do it again I might buy just the table and find different chairs. The table: Overall, I think it's nice. It assembled quickly, comes with a stone circle that fits in the umbrella hole if it's not being used, and easily accommodated my 1.5"" umbrella. (It could hold a larger diameter stand.) It looks good and is stable, HOWEVER the metal doesn't match the chairs. The chairs are clearly a coffee color whereas the table metal is black. The chairs: They were rusty upon arrival, the wicker has sections that are completely different hues of brown, and one of them doesn't stand evenly (a leg doesn't touch the ground so it wobbles). They were covered in rust particles and dirt - absolutely filthy. I seriously doubt they'll last a season and am worried about how much rusty water they'll produce after they get rained on. They've already stained my outdoor rug just from me rinsing them off. FYI they required no assembly. Together: The box and packing materials reeked of mold. I'm not very sensitive to it, and the set is being kept outside, so it didn't really bother me but if you're allergic I'd absolutely stay away from this set. Shipping: Online tracking showed a delivery date so I took the day off of work but it was a no show. I emailed the freight company, complained about the miscommunication, asked to be contacted - no response. I scheduled a delivery through their online system and took another day off of work - another no show. I called their head office that night and they said it should have been delivered and blamed the local office. I called the local office and they said they never got the appointment and blamed the head office. It infuriated me. All I can say is that if you order this - go out of your way to confirm your delivery! I'm still giving this set two stars for two reasons: 1) I like the table, and 2) I don't blame Hayneedle for the delivery problems as I think it was the freight company's mistake. That said, the chairs by themselves would have received zero stars.
To our disappointment, the set arrived missing a key part to the table. Without the part, the table is still sitting in the box. I called customer service at Hayneedle and reported the missing piece. After waiting the weekend, I received an email stating the supplier will send the missing piece. Needless to say, I can't write a favorable review until the table can be assembled. In regards to the chairs however, they came assembled and are very nice!
