Let me start by saying this. I'm going to be completely honest and tell you every single detail I like and dislike about this instrument after purchasing it. The good thing about my opinion is that it's mine. Also, another good thing, you don't have to agree with it. You can completely disregard everything I am about to say, and I don't lose or gain anything about that. All I can do is tell you about my experience in hopes that it helps you make a decision on whether or not you purchase this vehicle to your dream. Let me start by telling you the things that I dislike about this instrument. I have been a Luthier for over 25 years. It's my passion. Takamine always boxes their instruments out properly. It was very well packaged and arrive safely as usual. I've owned several G series guitars, and two each series. The first thing I noticed was the strings are so cheap. I think they are de Addario. At any rate, you don't put the cheapest strings available on $1000 guitar. People work very hard for their money. They should take a little more pride in the details. The last thing anybody wants to do is spend more money on strings or anything else when they just paid $1000 for an instrument. It's Petty on behalf of the manufacture. Also, the guitar is very light. It surprised me. Light means thin. Thin means unsturdy. Also, I noticed that I could literally see the greens in the bridge and in the frets. They were not polished at all. Not even a little bit. It was if they never made the effort to even try to treat these areas. The inside was even worse. The first thing that I had to do was get some SC Johnson treating wax and treat the inside of this instrument. I also had to stain the Frets and polish them myself. After doing this, the guitar is in immaculate shape. I really love it. The overall aesthetic and design of the guitar is fabulous. The sound is even better. It's very pleasant to the eyes and you will definitely get lots of compliments. The sound is fabulous. I. There are more good aspects to this instrument than there are bad. It's definitely better than anything that the tailor company has to offer for this price range. I do leave this review with five stars, because I do believe that aside from the negatives on this purchase, the good for outweighs the bad. I hope this review helps you make a determination on whether or not you want to pull the trigger on this guitar. Go on ahead and buy it. It's worth it. Buy it from Walmart also. They will give you a great return policy and they also always offer good service. Take care.
