These thermometers have many uses. This one is watching for frozen pipes . Works great inside and out.
This is a nifty device; easy to set up; helps you plan your day
I wanted a inexpensive replacement for another LaCrosse indoor/outdoor thermometer that died after many years. This one is a little less fully-featured than my old one, in that it doesn't have a humidity and forecast readouts, but otherwise it gets the job done equally well. Nice readouts of temperatures, as well as lows and highs. One tip - I set both the sensor and the indoor unit side by side and after a half-hour they didn't read the same temperature, so I thought they were defective. I came back a couple hours later and they were spot on, showing the exact temperature to the tenth. So give them a little while to settle in when new.
Seems to be quite accurate both indoors and out. Have no complaints and for the price it is well worth it.
Have had other thermometers by La Crosse. Although this thermometer is quite light in weight compared to the others, so far it has given accurate readings.
Very easy to setup, very easy to monitor outdoor and indoor temps, both current and highest and lowest since last reset. This is a replacement for one that worked for many, many years until the outdoor temp transmitter failed. Happy enough with it to order an identical replacement
Its great to know the outdoor temp. It seems very accurate. This wireless device is easy to set up if you follow the directions. Just make sure you have 2 AA and 2 AAA batteries so it will work ... don't use the cheap batteries, use brand name Alkaline bat's ie Energizer or Duracell. This device also has the time, also easy to set up. Recommend.
In my case, the numerals are not large enough. Display not enough light.
I have been using 2 of these for over 2 years. I love the data that is displayed and they pick up sensors almost 50 feet away, outdoors. But these units are battery hogs and need new batteries every 6-8 weeks, so that really jacks up the "real cost" of these.
The clock and indoor temperature worked fine, however the outdoor temperature did not work. It would lock for 5 min then drop out. Now it won't lock at all. I checked the batteries and pressed the SET button 25 times, nothing.
