[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the 8 pc professional set and did not like the block because removing a knife was at a 75 degrees angle pulling up hitting my cabinet. I settled on this 7 pc professional set because the knife removal from block was at 45 degrees. I like the weight balance on the professionals and the cuts at spot on. I would recommend Zwilling professional knives to my friends and family. They also look beautiful on my countertop.

The knives cut like butter, and the weight of these knives also is exceptional. It's also nice because it comes with the block as well as the sharpening steel and knife sharpener.
The knife block is beautiful and compact and will hold three additional medium to large knives one additional pairing knife and six steak knives. The construction of the knife handles is first class. The knives have excellent balance and weight. Holy sharp Batman, these things are incredibly sharp. The sharpest set of knives I have purchased to date. Have only owned these for a few weeks but I love them. Handles have a good fit on the blade and fit my hands well. Can't say enough about how sharp they are..awesome! This block left room for the steak knives that I already owned.
My mom bought me a Zwilling pro santoku knife for a birthday present because I grew a bunch of spaghetti squash and struggled to cut them open raw with everyone of my knives! Since then that knife was pretty much the only one I use, it made chopping those squashes open so easy! I found this set online and the price seemed reasonable for the quantity of knives, plus no dupes with what I already have. Anyways, they're all great so far and so happy to now have a nice knife set in my kitchen. Even the bread knife put my old bread knife to shame!

These are exactly how I expected them to be! Great starter set and I can pick out the remaining 4 slots with what I want. Beautiful and sharp. Knives I expect to have for many years to come. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I don't know if they will stand the test of time! Only time will tell!!
